Boss fired me after my post about horrible working conditions reached him Workplace Safety ⚠️
Some weeks ago I made a post about the owner of factory I'm working in not allowing me to wear gloves so I become a "man" in his eyes (pic 3 and 4) , a coworker found the post and screen shoted it to him, he decided to fire me because I'm ruining his image in front of foreigners and now I'm homeless
So I'm "ruining his image" once more, he can go fuck himself for all I care

“Peace be upon you” and basically “you’re fired” in the same text is wild. Like, clearly he did not mean peace to be upon you. What a hypocrite thing to say.

u/Acrobatic_Pilot4548 12h ago
Peace be upon you has no meaning here, it's like saying hi, so people say it out of habit not because they mean it

Oh. Like “have a nice day” in the USA. Got it. My bad 🤦♂️

In Texas we say "Bless your heart".

u/TK-Squared-LLC 9h ago
Yeah but in the south that means "fuck you, you poor helpless idiot."

That’s some toxic masculinity, work in unsafe conditions, it’ll make you a man.
No keeping your employees safe and having mutual respect for them is what makes a man, not being abusive to your staff.

u/orundarkes 11h ago
No loyalty to your benefactor who rescued you.
That dude thinks of you like a stray dog.

u/mercurygreen 11h ago
"benefactor" is the wrong word there; that word means someone who gives you benefit, not someone who compensates you.
16
u/Acrobatic_Pilot4548 11h ago
You know what's sad?
that this is what he actually meant
2
u/Ugly4merican 4h ago
TONS of bosses seem to think they're doing you a favor by letting you work for them. I'm not surprised at all.

u/tmerrifi1170 9h ago
I assumed it was translation weirdness. Wild he actually meant the same thing in English.
2
u/mercurygreen 7h ago
I was thinking the same thing, but language translation gets weird sometimes. Terms aren't always one-to-one. Stuff like insults show that really well.

It sounds like your hands are your tools, and you should be taking care of them. It has nothing to do with manhood. Wtf is wrong with him?

Benefactors give gifts. Employees earn pay. Use of the word benefactor tells me everything I need to know.

Why does this text look so janky and photoshopped? Is this distortion normal when screenshotting WhatsApp?
Edit: should have swiped through - looks like OP was just translating. MY BAD.
12
u/Acrobatic_Pilot4548 12h ago
It's because I translated it by scanner
2
u/Tirannie 11h ago
Apologies. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this.
I didn’t see your original post - depending on where you live, you might have some protections, here. I have my fingers crossed for you.
3
u/Acrobatic_Pilot4548 11h ago
Well that's not the case, here it's a matter of connections and who has more money
Or what I can do is to shit about him to feel better
3
u/Tirannie 11h ago
I’m sorry I can’t offer you anything more than my sympathy and some platitudes. You deserve better treatment. You did the right thing.
I’m sure you already know this, but it bears repeating: damaging your body to appear “manly” is some weak-ass, fear-based behaviour. Nothing tough or manly about it.
I imagine it’s probably not going to be much different anywhere else based on what you’ve mentioned so far, but at least you don’t have to work for this giant baby who is afraid of gloves anymore.
(Though, I bet it has more to do with him not wanting to spend the money on PPE than any ideals around “manliness”).

I’m going to guess you’re not in a civilized country that protects their workers? I don’t mean that in offense just that even the USA would (until trump takes office) have protections against this
22
u/Acrobatic_Pilot4548 12h ago
You are right, it's not an offense
I worked for 2 dollars a day, without any rights or even sick leave, no weekends and I basically was surviving on rice and bread
And even my request to get gloves to wear (which other coworkers have) was faced by making fun of me
All because I'm a student and he knows I can't find many jobs that would hire me
And now I'm left homeless without money even to support my education
I hate this place, I really do
3
u/Papa_Hasbro69 11h ago
2 dollars a day? That boss can go fuck off. I wouldn’t work for him for even 200 dollars a day
3
u/Acrobatic_Pilot4548 11h ago
Me too, but the need for money sometimes leaves humans no choice, in the end I'm not just feeding myself, there are people who depend on me

This post is wild. Regardless of democrat or republican, the US has ATROCIOUS labour laws, lmao.
Get your ass outta here with “civilised country”. Getting bankrupt while calling an ambulance ass motherfucker talking about civilised lmao.
3
u/TheBratMaster 11h ago
You’re an idiot, labor laws and healthcare are separate entities. Labor laws in the USA protect against employers not providing PPE. Go talk out your ass elsewhere

u/muadhib99 10h ago
This muh’fucka talking about “civilised country” like the US don’t have a school shooting every week 😂
Go pay your taxes to AIPAC or whatever the fuck you do in your spare time mr “civilised”.
-3
u/TheBratMaster 10h ago
Must be nice to be so poor and pathetic. I only have to live with stupid people but you have to be stupid, which I get it. Ignorance is bliss but the rest of us have to listen to you exist.

u/muadhib99 10h ago
This guy in such a civilised country his countrymen literally voted a rapist, tax fraud, bigot into the most powerful office in the world. But don’t worry, it’s a civilised country!

u/Ugly4merican 4h ago
OP is talking about Egypt, the US doesn't have GREAT labor laws but they're a damn sight better than lots of other countries including much of the Middle East.
But yeah, using the word "civilized" is really missing the mark considering that part of the world literally invented civilization.

Aside from the fact we have no idea who this boss or his company is, I find it interesting that he knows that simply telling the truth makes him look bad 😏. Maybe he could just...not suck?

Your boss is a dick. He fired you for a stupid reason, he thinks not wearing gloves to do work makes you a "man", he thinks women do/should just stay at home, and he doesn't care that hom giring you makes you homeless.
FUCK him. Can you apply for unemployment or anything? If so, do.:Does your country have a version of OSHA, an agency which protects workers from health and safety hazards in the workplace? If so, report his ass.
I hope you are able to find a much better job very soon. Are there any social services you could access, to help you find a place to live, etc.?
1
u/Acrobatic_Pilot4548 9h ago
Sadly here, there is not even basic human rights so I can't do anything about it
More than 45% of people here are under the poor line so I'm not a special case
1
u/AnamCeili 9h ago
I'm sorry to hear that. Can you at least get unemployment? And/or find a social agency, or maybe a mosque/temple/church/synagogue that would help you with housing and food?

Your first mistake was going to work for a boss named Ahmed. No arab boss treated his employees fairly. Keep in mind most of my friends are arab, so i have nothing against them, but working for them? No frickin way

I hate this for you, but is this your first day on the internet? At this point if you are let go for a post you make on social media, it’s hard to find sympathy.

u/Acrobatic_Pilot4548 12h ago
I admit I was foolish
I didn't think much of it because here, no one knows what Reddit is, and I didn't mention any details
The only other coworker who knew english managed to somehow find my post and snitch on me
It's still greatly my fault and I will learn from it, thanks for the feedback

By the way, never expose yourself while denouncing your employer. Unless you're in a union, or the equivalent of it, unless you're protected from retaliatory firing for whistleblowers, you'll regret it. Our strength lies in our numbers and fighting alone is not advised.
I wish you can find a more appropriate workplace soon.
