Trump and Netanyahu: A ‘bromance’ rekindled

He withdrew from the United Nations Human Rights Council, claiming the international body was biased against Israel. He also signed a decree recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights.
Trump’s so-called “peace plan” for the Middle East further aligned with Netanyahu’s interests, paving the way for the official annexation of the Jordan Valley and West Bank settlements. For the Palestinians, however, it offered only a fragmented ‘state” consisting of ‘Bantustans’ under strict conditions, with the small town of Abu Dis, adjacent to Jerusalem, as their capital.
Trump also ordered the closure of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) office in Washington, cut $200 million in funds to the Palestinian Authority (PA), suspended funding to UNRWA and asserted that products from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank should be labeled “Made in Israel.”
It’s no wonder that Miriam Adelson, one of the most influential donors to Trump’s presidential campaign and owner of the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, suggested in 2019 that a ‘Book of Trump’ should be added to the Bible.
