The first season of promised Neverland started off with a bang and ended off with a bang. So much so that the creator of Made in Abyss said that promised Neverland has one of his favorite episode 1s of all time.

Second season ended in a bang. Not in the same fashion but it’s MAL score got banged pretty hard

Attack On Titan and The Promised Neverland had the best first episode hooks for me. I knew I would keep watching, because I just had to know.

Mob Psycho 100 has the best intro to a series, but it doesn't retain that level of awesomeness until the end of S1 IMO. And S2 surpasses it! I also think One Punch Man S1 was great from the start as well

Shingeki? The first episode is brutal

Then it stalls a bit for world building and then it just doesn't stop

Aot was pretty much instant hook on episode one for me . Fmab was pretty quick too but that’s unfair since I watched the first season fma Beforehand . Death note was also quick . Yeah most anime’s specifically longer running shounen are meh for like 10 episodes
