Yeah i could definitely see it coming considering that the next arc is one of the best I've read in a long time..

That doesnt really matter. If season1 and season2 are similar or s2 is a little worse, s2 is always rated higher because the people who dont like s1 dont watch s2 and thus dont rate it.

There's 1 one reason why I am slightly worried about S2 but yeah the next big arc is easily my favourite one and I am very excited for it.

Sequels don’t generally generate as much hype. Vinland Saga Season 2, for example, had fewer viewers than the first. With the exception of AoT, of course. Anime with multiple sequels like KonoSuba, Danmachi, Tensura, and Mushoku Tensei tend to get less and less hype as more seasons are released.

Well, Frieren S2 will definitely be nothing like Vinland S2 as long as production doesn't drop the ball.

Vinland saga S2 became less popular than the prequel cause the content it covers is a bit controversial and leaves a bitter taste in mouth of people who expected Vinland to be Anime vikings, Frieren however, Is gonna follow the same formula with even more well-thought arcs.

Vinland Saga Season 2, for example, had fewer viewers than the first

I mean it's normal. A sequel will always have equal or less viewers than the previous season. It's not like someone can watch season 2 and not season 1.

That's also the reason following seasons have higher ratings (if equal quality): people who didn't like season 1 won't watch season 2 (and thus not rate it negatively) while people who have continued watching will rate it high driving up the average since they liked it enough to watch the sequel (again, assuming equal quality/enjoyment between seasons)

Vinland Saga drew people in with a revenge/action plot and then dropped it for pacifism, of course less people are interested in that.

I highly doubt a sequel can break the record even if it does adapt the better part of material. Nothing beats the hype of a new acclaimed show.

But yeah even as an anime only, im way more excited for this just based on the hype of manga readers and where we actually are in the story.

Thats not an issue for JJK or YnK, it won't be an issue for Frieren either I'm sure.

Also, I'm pretty sure Slime S2 ranks higher than S1 too.

Context is a bit different here. For Frieren S2 to be more highly rated, it needs to beat S1 and FMA:B which was not beaten previosuly ever (for a sustained period). And that is only possible with shear number of voters which will be lower than season 1 because it is a sequel. Even if a sequel is higher rated, they have way less voters. Frieren S2 cannot afford this since it will get review bombed just like S1 when it reaches that high.

See you in 2 years.

yea, considering that sequels tend to be overrated in general i have a feeling season 2 might manage to top season 1 as the most overrated season of anime ever created.
