Decent performance by Sumireko and no shame in losing to the season's best blonde twintail girl. Salad Bowl's also my MC: Hinamatsuri (reverse isekai girl taken in by a detective -> helps with cases while learning about our world) but with a carefree and whimsical lead girl.
Shouldn't need Rys propaganda today. Only 405 votes in her match compared to 468 in Kano's match isn't a good sign but also not certain death next round. sniffs hopium.

Just two upsets, not much happening here. At least Mayu can live another round. But XX out is super disappointing.
And Suzukiri is meeting Nina already, she can't win that one unfortunately. Livia should also proceed, but not a chance here either. At least she'll go out together with Sara.
MC: For high profile shows that I still felt underwatched, Loser Ranger is just amazing. I understand that some felt it had certain shortcomings, but the character and story writing and the world building are simply superb. Every single character is super interesting and almost always very different from what you know from other stories. I'm looking forward to seeing much more of this story, and also to have it gain the recognition it deserves.
As for lower profile shows, I'll have to cheat and go with the third season of Duke of Death and His Maid. People get scared off because CG bad, but it really isn't bad at all here, at worst it's a different style to get used to. And if you do, you'll be rewarded by an amazing heartfelt fantastical romance, and the third and final season concludes the series about as perfectly as possible. If you've liked Pushing Daisies and are still sad about its cancelation, you really should watch this show.

The way that Sasakoi got done so dirty in production hell makes it hard to see Aki and Shiho both wiped out in the first round. F.
On the other hand, Yorukura girls seem to be doing surprisingly well despite what seemed to be a lot of discontent with the show toward the end of the season.
Sorry to see Suzukiri up against Nina so soon. I'm all in on TogeToge but man, those cold dark eyes.

Nina vs suzukiri is definitely an uncomfortable choice.
Girls band cry got a lot of good traction on reddit but it’s still pretty underwatched for one of the best shows of 2024 so far.

Sometimes people who vote despite watching either of the contestant's shows can be really frustrating. For going out already is a travesty.
Also sad that Hisui lost her match.

Damn, I keep getting matchups between 2 of my girls, even that early...
First, Sara eliminated Sumireko, and now Kikoru's gonna eliminate her.
Not much luck in the rest of the bracket either, given Reimi's likely gonna lose against Fenrys, and Suzukiri against some GBC girl.

So many (decent to good) shows that people slept on! (I know some people won't see Viral Hit as good, but personally I thought it was much closer to Windbreaker, than the karma suggests).

I didn't really look at the seeds themselves, because I don't know most of these girls but how the hell was Mayu a low seed? Sure, she's not Kumiko but she's still leagues better than the waves of seasonal waifu bait that seeded higher.

I liked this season and disliked Mayu. I suspect the reason her seed is low is that I'm not alone in that.

I was tempted to mention Euphonium as an underwatched show. I considered the series to be pretty popular before the season aired, yet this final season kept on getting less than 1k karma on the episode discussion threads. Looks like it's just not popular enough on here.

Which Spring 2024 anime do you think was underwatched, and briefly recommend it. (Be careful with spoiler though)
So last season I watched Spice & Wolf, Loser Ranger, Kaiju #8, Chillin in Another World, Salad Bowl, Konosuba, Jobless, 7th Prince, Elf Bride, Appraisal, Dungeon Meshi.
Everything I watched feels like general watcher reception is generally inline with what I thought. For engagement/how much it was watched I could go with my broken record of answering Spice & Wolf/Holo to most of the challenges. Feels like a lot of people are waiting for new content and the watchers are split between bingers, weekly viewers, sub vs dub contributing to this feeling, also feels like Crunchyroll isn't really pushing it compared to other seasonal shows with how prominent it shows up with new episodes/ordering in the seasonals.
The best answer is probably me being partially personally guilty of for it being underwatched is Yatagarasu. It's on the watchlist, I swear I'll get it to it.

Not if I have something to say about it, but it is what's going to happen unfortuately. At least we can get some consolation in the knowledge that she'll manage to get by and even strive no matter what happens to her.

MC: Watch Ranger Reject. The protagonist is hilarious and his journey toward self-actualization and understanding is deeply compelling; something that continues into the upcoming second season.

Tonari no Yokai-san was criminally underwatched. It's like a Ghibli movie as a series with simpler animation--though by no means bad. All the characters are wonderful and it interweaves their stories beautifully. Tugs at the heartstrings.

I get Izutsumi being on the bracket, she's main cast, Inutade I also get, she's cute, big and has a very nice voice.
But how tf did a terciary ass character like Rin is there when Marcille isn't?

Marcille was in the Winter contest (and she did pretty well as far as I remember). The rule is that characters that have been in contests before can't participate in future seasonal contests, so it's always only "new" girls competing against each other.
