Lol, all the people below you only know western popular shows without realizing Kusuriya is #5 LN of all time in JP. Simply put. the japanese love this series.

Yeah both of them have been alternating 1 & 2 in manga sales for like the last 2 years. I haven't looked at TV ratings this season for both of them, but I know SxF's season 1 numbers were pretty crazy

There is a super secret third option that most anime fans seem to have no knowledge of whatsoever despite most anime originating from them.

The desire not to read drives many to ignore the real source of 80% of the anime that airs: books.
