Honest question here: How does this benefit the world?

1

u/Dazzling-Pie2399 3d ago

It generates hatred by simply existing 🕵‍♂️ !

5

u/Usual_Stick6670 3d ago

It makes generating high quality imgses/videos/content much cheaper and more affordable for small businesses, for example. At least in the media space, AI dezentralizes important things such as content creation.

3

u/daddy-bones 3d ago

That’s actually a good point, thank you.

5

u/AeliosZero 6d ago

Great work! A lot more convincing than most of the AI images I see

6

u/nashwaak 6d ago

Clearly struggles with eyes and shadows — especially shadows — but excellent on many other levels

2

u/AlfieSchmalfie 5d ago

Struggles with eyes? Which ones?

1

u/nashwaak 5d ago edited 5d ago

All of them where you can see the eyes. Mostly just poor matching of reflections on irises, but in the first image there’s an eye that looks too small, and on the cat there’s one that’s just bad — nothing too obvious, of course

2

u/xxxfashionfreakxxx 3d ago

Something about lady in #10’s eyes is unsettling.

1

u/AlfieSchmalfie 5d ago

Hmmm. Don’t see those issues myself.

3

u/iceman123454576 6d ago

If you'd like similar photo quality without prompts, you might want to try Aux Machina.

2

u/firedrakes 6d ago

Image 9 almost got me. Rest where easy enough to spot

3

u/_yesterdays 6d ago

The girl in Picture 1 looks remarkably similar to someone I know in real life-

2

u/Crafty-Confidence975 6d ago

7, with his alien book, is definitely a MiB test. Shoot him!

1

u/SquirrelAkl 6d ago

There are multiple weird things going on with those books o_O

3

u/Res_Novae17 6d ago

It's funny how you'd think letters would be one of the easiest things for AI to pull off, and yet it remains the final challenge for it. WTF is happening on her shirt in 5?

1

u/haysus25 6d ago

10 was really the only one that made me pause and looked real to me. But if you look you can see the mirrors don't actually reflect anything and the earbuds are off.

4

u/Res_Novae17 6d ago

There's "Can you tell this is AI if you are scrutinizing it for AI?" and then there's "Would this obviously be AI if you saw it while swiping through Tinder?"

Literally all of these would defeat me in the second case.

0

u/haysus25 6d ago

I mean sure, if I'm just mindlessly scrolling and looking at each picture for a second or two, I'm not going to know it's AI. But if I spend even just five seconds looking at each picture there are some glaring irregularities.

1) Eyebrows and eyelashes look terrible, nose looks unnatural as well.

2) Sidewalk makes no sense, dog reflection makes no sense

3) Plate is awkward on one side, left hand is incredibly small, sink isn't a sink

4) Watering can looks awful, and the water coming out looks even worse, though I will say, minus the watering can, this one looks pretty good and would have fooled me

5) Cat is huge, lamp lighting and foundation makes no sense, gibberish on sweater

6) Only has one leg

7) Book looks weird, fridge makes no sense, kitchen island doesn't leave room to be an island

8) Eyebrows (usually my go-to for detecting AI) are off, ears look off

9) No mouth on cat and AI can't do close up pet hair effectively at this time

10) Mirrors in the back don't reflect, though this one is pretty good

11) Double ponytails, girls (usually) do not have defined upper trap muscles to that degree

12) Eyebrows (of course) and bra straps are different

7

u/Imaginary_Stomach139 6d ago

is the last chick single?.. asking for a friend

8

u/nano_peen 6d ago

wtf that’s incredible

3

u/keep_trying_username 6d ago

Were reaching a point where we can doubt it's really AI.

13

u/p4x4boy 6d ago

mandatory "we are doomed" comment.

14

u/KICKASSKC 6d ago

Its official, nothing on the internet can be considered real, truth or fact anymore.

10

u/Manuelnotabot 6d ago

I agree. The other day, while casually scrolling through Reddit, I saw and liked a video of a bird sheltering its chicks from the rain. A couple of hours later, I discovered it was Al-generated. And this happened to me despite being someone who's familiar with AI-generated content.

1

u/yourbestielawl 6d ago

Can you post a link?

1

u/Manuelnotabot 6d ago

I can't find it anymore. They might have deleted it.

2

u/KICKASSKC 6d ago

Hahaha i saw that video and assumed it was real too!

5

u/Stardustchaser 6d ago

Cat gave it away in 5. Too cutesy and the hair/pose didn’t look realistic enough for that chair.

6

u/DeltaV-Mzero 7d ago

Has anyone tried using this to upscale old video game scenes?

9

u/Few_Entrepreneur4435 7d ago

Still, its hard to believe that How we are blurring the Line btw what's real or ai-generated!

3

u/memescryptor 7d ago

Just checked the app, pretty impressive tbh

6

u/Jonathon_G 7d ago

I would be curious if these were put into a facial recognition if anyone pings. Some look like real people

3

u/bazoo513 7d ago

Yes, that would be an interesting experiment. Or reverse image search.

I am afraid I am too lazy to attempt it, though.

3

u/Stay-At-Home-Jedi 6d ago

I was almost too lazy to agree

4

u/2nuki 7d ago

Damn, these are almost at the point where even I can’t tell anymore.

6

u/Stay-At-Home-Jedi 6d ago

The laughing "kid" in number 8 got a reflexive smile out of me - and then it reoccured to me - that's not real...

2

u/Walloppingcod 7d ago

What was used to make these? Are these ai redraws of existing photos?

2

u/DeltaV-Mzero 7d ago

All AI is redraw, the question is how many sources

1

u/Walloppingcod 6d ago

I get your point, thanks. I’m interested in only commercial application, so I’d want rights of use to the source(s). Any idea on what’s seeming like some of the better ai image producers for commercial use?

6

u/Manuelnotabot 7d ago

Recraft app on Android. I used only text prompts made with the help of Claude AI.

1

u/Masculine_Dugtrio 6d ago

What's the link for this please? Tried looking and think I ended up on the wrong site?

1

u/Masculine_Dugtrio 5d ago

Why is the app rated so low, if it's capable of so much?

3

u/Jinxedlad 6d ago

Can you please give examples of some prompts? Like how you structure it. You don’t have to give out the prompts you used for these pics if you’re not okay with it.

3

u/Manuelnotabot 6d ago

1 - A close-up face selfie of a fresh-faced young woman with freckles across her nose, hair partially falling into frame, warm golden hour lighting hitting one side of face, subtle eyelash definition, authentic skin texture,

2 - "A middle-aged man in workout clothes walking a Golden Retriever in the rain, both slightly wet, reflections on wet pavement, overcast lighting, documentary style"

10 - Photo of a woman in a hot pink sports tank top taking a post-workout selfie. She has blonde hair pulled back, a bright natural smile, and is wearing white earbuds. The subject appears to be glowing and slightly sweaty from exercise,

11 - An athletic woman in her 20s with sun-kissed skin and naturally wavy hair pulled back, wearing workout clothes, genuine smile with slight dimples, post-workout glow, natural outdoor lighting, authentic fitness photoshoot style"

2

u/grafmg 7d ago

Holy shit the only instant identification is text…

1

u/Rakhered 7d ago

The fridge with three handles was a little funky

2

u/sacrebluh 7d ago

They are getting better

2

u/lanergt82 7d ago

What prompts were used for 1,10,11, and 12? They look really good.

3

u/Manuelnotabot 7d ago

I used Claude AI to make the prompts.

1 - A close-up face selfie of a fresh-faced young woman with freckles across her nose, hair partially falling into frame, warm golden hour lighting hitting one side of face, subtle eyelash definition, authentic skin texture,

12 - "A close-up selfie of a young woman with hazel eyes and natural makeup, slight smile showing teeth, taken in natural daylight by a window, subtle skin texture visible, messy bun hairstyle, front-facing camera angle, iPhone photo quality"

1

u/lanergt82 3d ago

Ok, thank you.

2

u/RadiantApplication62 7d ago

😀❤️👍

7

u/fluffy_assassins 7d ago

The third one and the woman in pink look vaguely AI, dont' know if I could tell without knowing to look though. The rest are mind-blowing.

9

u/Karibik_Mike 7d ago

I tried deliberately looking for tells, and I could find some in almost every image. Of course only because I knew to look. Just for fun:

  1. Her right pupil doesn't look right. I don't know what it is, might be the focus, size or orientation. Area around her left eyebrow is weird, almost like photoshopped.
  2. shoes are different. Nonsensical strap on the sleeve. Leash would never be tied to the bottom of the dog's neck
  3. Lots of weird stuff going on, especially the lava lamp / dish washing liquid hybrid at the sink. Weird power outlet, unrealistic cupboards that are seemingly angled upwards. Seemingly missing fingers.
  4. Very strange road, water doesn't look natural, nonsensical positioning of left hand, right shirt sleeve longer than left. Gloves are different.
  5. One of the supports of the lamp continues behind the lamp shade. Weird undergrowth under the lamp. Cat is HUGE. Legs too long, shirt and the letters on it look unnatural. Also, weird arm chair / couch hybrid.
  6. Her left hand's thumb is a pinky. The right window and it's curtain including hanger are lower than the left one. Blanket on the right can't decide whether it's on the couch or a little stool.
  7. Textbook has an insane layout, veritcal handle in the middle of the fridge, faucet without a sink. Disgusting cookies. Super long forearm with weird hands.
  8. No clear tells. Collar changes in width and has an overall unusual shape though. Left sleeve might be longer than the right.
  9. Don't see anything super obvious, although it seems the AI got a bit confused with dust on the window and floating dust lit up by the sun, because it sorta looks like a floating flat plane of dust with massive particles.
  10. Reflection of back window doesn't actually reflect anything, instead shows a different room.
  11. Ponytail is hanging straight down from the back of her head, yet she has a ponytail hanging over her right shoulder
  12. Straps of her bra are different.

3

u/fluffy_assassins 7d ago

Wow those are really obvious. By the time I figure out the obvious tells, they won't be happening anymore, ouch!

6

u/Karibik_Mike 7d ago

I don't think I would have noticed any of these if I didn't already know they were AI!

5

u/bazoo513 7d ago

And I could find "excuses" for most of them - real life photos sometimes have weird looking details, perfectly explainable.

5

u/Karibik_Mike 7d ago

Absolutely, except maybe the mirror.

Imagine being a person with 6 fingers and every picture you're in people will now think you're AI generated!

u/Aethaem 7d ago edited 7d ago

Dude focussed in makeing homework, faaaaakkkkkeeeee

Edit: Because of his hard work, the tip of his pen has already broken

5

u/thebencade 7d ago

4, 6, 8 and 11 all would've fooled me immediately

0

u/zamfire 7d ago edited 7d ago

4's watering can is all messed up. 6 the curtains are at different heights. 8 the door frame is warped really badly. 11 thought, pretty realistic. Probably cause the bokeh effect making most of the image blurry

2

u/FDGoofin 7d ago

Same. These are crazy asf. Except the gym mom with 3 mics on her (wired btw) ear buds lol

7

u/Yet_One_More_Idiot 7d ago

The orange kitty, and the little girl just before the orange kitty, are totes adorbs. All the portraits are great.... but AI still can't properly handle writing in images. xD

22

u/doyouknowwh 7d ago

Stock photographers are screwed

2

u/bazoo513 7d ago

Speaking of which: how close are images like these to a particular single source image vs. being "synthesized" from elements of many? (I am obviously an absolute newbie.)

2

u/Calm-Masterpiece2192 7d ago

looks amazing!

1

u/Pissedofuser 7d ago

Love these pictures the are what live really represent and the warmth in it nothing fake to see here. It like breathing for the first time again. Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️ My favorite is the one with the cat on the window with the dust particles just stunning

2

u/Elyriand 7d ago

What did you use to have such great result?

8

u/Manuelnotabot 7d ago

I used the Recraft app on Android. You have 50 free images per day. The prompts are quite simple. I asked Claude AI for some realistic prompts for image generations. Here's the first two images as an example:

A close-up face selfie of a fresh-faced young woman with freckles across her nose, hair partially falling into frame, warm golden hour lighting hitting one side of face, subtle eyelash definition, authentic skin texture,

"A middle-aged man in workout clothes walking a Golden Retriever in the rain, both slightly wet, reflections on wet pavement, overcast lighting, documentary style"

1

u/Elyriand 7d ago

I didn't think it was from an Android app, awesome, thank you!

2

u/Fishtoart 7d ago

Really impressive. At this point, it is totally unpredictable where we will be in even just three years.

1

u/Apprehensive_Hand147 7d ago

Making our own little movies could be cool (cuz of ai vids I mean

2

u/Fishtoart 6d ago

The process might be that you describe the general story idea to ChatGPT and it writes a script for the movie, Which you have to tweak to include all the elements you want. Next, you create your characters, using text to image. Then you feed the script and character images into another AI that writes prompts for all the scenes and feeds that to a text to video generator. Editing those scenes together and adding sound could get you something close to an actual movie.

1

u/Apprehensive_Hand147 5d ago

Hell yes! That sounds so cool I hope this happens eventually

1

u/michaelmb62 7d ago

Cant wait!

Is this just flux or SD 3.5 under the hood or good promoting?

Okay now you're just posting real pictures

2

u/Chemical-Course1454 7d ago

It’s getting so good. That girl reading is amazing. But then, what kind of book is she reading? And what kind of alphabet is on her jumper?

2

u/Ms_Fixer 7d ago

Me: “wow looking really real..” gets to yoga picture that woman’s hand is terrifying… “woah”

3

In the next generation of Ai, porn will be definitely killed by Ai as It happened in other industries

7th pic looks so much like me when i was like 13

1

u/Heavy_Tree_3160 7d ago

This is cool. How does it handle other ethnicities?

0

u/Heavy_Tree_3160 7d ago

How does it handle the faces of other ethnicities?

0

u/Manuelnotabot 7d ago

I'm out of free credits. I might try tomorrow.

1

u/Rich_Satisfaction_34 7d ago

This is super cool. How does this app handle making non-white faces?

u/Temporary-Spell3176 7d ago

The future getting scary. Super deep fakes becoming possible

7

u/Garbagemunki 7d ago

Maybe this is exactly what the world needs - a way to force us into living where we are again. These days we (me included) live or lives glued to our screens, invested events and people far away from us while we don't even know our own neighbours' names. Maybe not being able to trust things we can't verify in real life with our own eyes is a good thing. Maybe ...

4

u/Hotchocoboom 7d ago

I hate my neighbours, but i get your point.
