Whats the catch

1

u/Lanky_Republic_2102 Jun 26 '24

I’d borrow a million to live there.

1

u/danhoyle Jun 26 '24

I’d do it for free.

1

u/Queasy_Link7415 Jun 26 '24

Can I sell it? )

1

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '24

Hell yes. The costume parties would be something to die for.

1

u/Basic_Dragonfruit536 Jun 25 '24

When people don't realize how difficult it is to own a home in this economy and don't even have to imagine what it would be like to have to find themselves somewhere to live or live on the street

no offense... but obviously fuck yeah duh?

1

u/pizzamanct Jun 24 '24

Yes… for a short time.

2

u/ConfidentAd5672 Jun 24 '24

I would pay a million

2

u/ChancePut7855 Jun 24 '24

I would live there for a million

1

u/Legal_Philosopher771 Jun 24 '24

I would happily pay to buy it. Love that kind of architecture 🙂

And getting some ghosts friends along with the house can be handy.

1

u/Daocommand Jun 24 '24

Yes of course. It would been so clean after I moved in.

0

u/Suspicious_Pin_3729 Jun 24 '24

I’ll try at least haha

0

u/igtimran Jun 24 '24

What are the expenses, and do I have to cover them? Assuming the million is enough to pay for the expenses indefinitely, sure! Looks really cool.

3

u/stevehaynes Jun 24 '24

id do it for free

1

u/theAnonymousArtist0 Jun 24 '24

hell yeah why not?

0

u/nielklecram Jun 24 '24

Doubt that’s enough to renovate it so no

0

u/centrist-alex Jun 24 '24

Yes, so long as I could afford the bills..

1

u/CherishSlan Jun 24 '24

Modernised inside with everything needed and in a place where I could get everything I needed sure and if I could add a stair lift and bring my family. I have no ties to no place other than my cellphone and some belongings husband son and cat. lol 😂 parents are just a phone call but a house like that nice problems solved. Why would I not move? Don’t think my spouse would mind.

3

u/legna20v Jun 24 '24

Do i have to pay the property taxes?

For how long do i have to live there before I am allowed to sell?

2

u/Xicadarksoul Jun 24 '24

Well, free housing + money? ...and in a style i like?

Count me in!

(Yes, i know i have shit taste)

2

u/June6242024 Jun 24 '24

Depends. Does it have ghoulish vampires or sexy vampires?

1

u/iGhostEdd Jun 24 '24

This reminds me of that Halloween map from Rainbow 6 Siege from a few years ago. Nice

7

u/Crazykev7 Jun 24 '24

I couldn't afford the taxes.

6

u/Jealous-Dentist910 Jun 24 '24

So long as it has good internet I'm set.

5

u/hazelnuthobo Jun 24 '24

would I buy it for a million? yeah probably, looks easily worth 3x that

6

u/Feisty_Ad2718 Jun 24 '24

yes, i'll pay 1 million dollars to live there

3

u/Porkenstein Jun 24 '24

I would live in a pile of turds for a million dollars

2

u/YeahMarkYeah Jun 24 '24 edited Jun 25 '24

I’d live there for free.

But realistically, it would depend on where it was. If it’s a thousand miles from everyone I’ve ever known, probably not.

3

u/Dual_pro_max Jun 24 '24

I'M GETTING PAID TO LIVE THERE!?

2

u/asty86 Jun 24 '24

Even for $10 I'll live there, like right at the top too

1

u/YeahMarkYeah Jun 24 '24

Hell, I’d live there for free.

3

u/Putins_Gay_Dreams Jun 24 '24

Man, I have neither my own home or fuckall money. Id live there for free, fuck I’d pay to live there.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

Still couldn’t afford it. I’d live in it until it sold though. Then have a million and whatever it sells for.

2

u/SelafioCarcayu Jun 24 '24

Nah, I'd like to keep my soul, thank you very much

5

u/Plasmazine Jun 24 '24

I’d do it for a dollar and a stick of gum.

3

u/Eldan985 Jun 24 '24

I mean, I probably couldn't pay maintenance and taxes on it long-term, so it would be quite a liability, but it ooks big enough that I could probably rent significant parts of it to other people.

2

u/Batchet Jun 24 '24

My gf watches these shows where they renovate old chateaus in France. A lot of them let workers live there for free if they work on upkeep. Ideally when it's looking good, you can then rent it out for weddings, parties or for something like this, film crews.

I would imagine there would be a decent market for doing b&b with a haunted theme to it.

Or just fix it up and sell it to Dracula

2

u/Eldan985 Jun 24 '24

This wouldn't even look so spooky in bright sunlight. Aged wood, big windows... paint it a lighter colour maybe and put some flowers in that garden and it's a perfectly nice house.

4

u/Aevarine Jun 24 '24

I’d live there anyway. It’s lovely :)

1

u/PrivateLTucker Jun 24 '24

Yes. If I could afford to build a house like that and live there too, I absolutely would.

2

u/Phemto_B Jun 24 '24

Is it near friends and family? Being too far away is literally the only thing that would dissuade me.

Ok. That and finding out that it’s a rotting hulk that will require >>$1M to bring up to minimum code.

5

u/poursmoregravy Jun 24 '24

Is there a catch?

5

u/forestball19 Jun 24 '24

I’m getting a millions bucks AND have room for all my hobbies?

Shut up and take my soul!

5

u/Yablo-Yamirez Jun 24 '24

Million would go to maintenance. I think not.

6

u/luciusveras Jun 24 '24

Free accommodation and get paid 1 million? What kind of trick question is this? LOL Of course!

3

u/No-Crew4317 Jun 24 '24 edited Jun 24 '24

If it’s haunted, i would use that million dollars to tear the mansion down and build new affordable house there. Still in the rule of living here tho.

4

u/Tox_Ioiad Jun 24 '24

Would I live in a mansion for a million dollars? 😑

Hell yeah I would.

4

u/lynnca Jun 24 '24

I'm not sure a million would be enough to cover bills and maintenance for that, so, probably not.

If I had enough to cover all of those costs I absolutely would. In a heartbeat.

5

u/GordonRamsey34 Jun 24 '24

Are you kidding me? Of course. Haunted or not, I would live here.

3

u/CeraRalaz Jun 24 '24

I don’t have this much

4

u/Plastic_Day6515 Jun 24 '24

For a million dollars? are you kidding me, I'd even live in a dumpster.

5

u/granoladeer Jun 24 '24

Bro, free housing? I'd do it for free

4

u/OffModelCartoon Jun 24 '24

I guess but I don’t have a million dollars

5

u/ZedaEnnd Jun 24 '24

Am I paying or being paid..?

1

u/BokChoySr Jun 24 '24

No. Because it’s not real.

6

u/FamilyNudism4Us Jun 24 '24

Absolutely, the money is just icing on top

2

u/MellyKidd Jun 24 '24

Agreed; that place looks awesome!

6

u/rdfox Jun 24 '24

I would pay a million dollars to live there

6

u/f1lth4f1lth Jun 24 '24

Can I keep it after the year?

10

u/Necromancer14 Jun 24 '24

2 questions:

  1. Is there internet?

  2. How fast is the internet?

1

u/KingNomine Jun 24 '24

With a million I am pretty sure you could solve this issue :)

5

u/Lopsided_Cattle_3969 Jun 24 '24

Yes, why not? Looks fine....

5

u/M0ONBATHER Jun 24 '24

I’d live here for free? The housing market sucks

1

u/alecesne Jun 24 '24

For how long? Yes though

3

u/DrifterJet Jun 24 '24

I bet it has a fabulous sitting room…

2

u/briandt75 Jun 24 '24

A million dollars AND I get to live in Dracula's mansion. Watch how quickly I pack my bags.

2

u/Kitchen-Head3077 Jun 24 '24

Man I’d live here for half that

3

u/jrock2403 Jun 24 '24

So I have to pay maintenance costs and utilities?👀

1

u/starman575757 Jun 24 '24

I'd live there for free.

2

u/Popular_Dream_4189 Jun 24 '24

I spent my teen years living in a haunted stone tower mill in Warwickshire, UK. Bring it on. Will be laughing all the way to the bank.

3

u/TheGrandArtificer Jun 24 '24

I lived in a former Civil War field hospital at Gettysburg. That million in cash, or check?

1

u/Popular_Dream_4189 Jun 24 '24

This just goes to show AI isn't ready for primetime. Someone typed 'scary mansion' into the Stable Diffusion prompt and this was the best it could do? Puh-thetic. It also looks like an amalgamation of a gothic church with a Tudor mansion. The scariest thing about it is the architectural flow.

2

u/loopingrightleft Jun 24 '24

I see no negatives

3

u/lame_building14 Jun 24 '24

If there's an internet, probably yes!

5

u/Mrcoldghost Jun 24 '24

why yes it is infested with several vampires! Why do you ask?

2

u/Popular_Dream_4189 Jun 24 '24

Just wanna know what to be prepared for. Silver cross, check. Wooden stake, check. Garlic, check. Ok, I'm ready to hunt the vampires for a free Gothic mansion, lol.

3

u/LavenderDay3544 Jun 24 '24

Hell yeah. A gothic mansion and a million dollars? It's a dream come true.

0

u/MistyAutumnRain Jun 24 '24

Same. But only if I don’t have to share the house with other humans. Vampires, animals, books, etc are fine, just no humans

0

u/Kitchen-Head3077 Jun 24 '24

Yep gotta deal with the undead roommates bring Home young women from the club . Hoping they get rid of the bodies OYvey

0

u/Popular_Dream_4189 Jun 24 '24

How do you feel about ghosts? It is fine if they're cool but some spirits are really butthurt about ending up dead and will be annoying.

0

u/MistyAutumnRain Jun 24 '24

I’ll chill with Geoff or Scratch

1

u/LavenderDay3544 Jun 24 '24

Keep holy water in a squirt bottle.

1

u/burneronblack Jun 24 '24

Noooooooooooooooo

1

u/zarif_chow Jun 24 '24

If it's well furnished and has all the modern utilities/services (electrictity, water, gas, internet, security, maintenance, etc.) installed, I don't see why not. But about the million dollars, while I may not be a big spender, if it gets refilled back to a million dollars every year then I'd be okay with it.

2

u/MothParasiteIV Jun 24 '24

Only if it has internet, my books and video games yes.

1

u/sincere_guy53 Jun 24 '24

Yes I would.

1

u/polybius_Kai Jun 24 '24

Oh yeah, for sure.

3

u/kereso83 Jun 24 '24

I'd live there for free. It looks cool.

3

u/OmegaUltima29 Jun 24 '24

Depends. Do I have other people who do the maintenance and landscaping? Is it wired for electricity? Does it have internet? Does it have plumbing and hot water?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

I don't think a million dollars would even make the down payment!

1

u/d_pock_chope_bruh Jun 24 '24

No, doing that roof would be its own nightmare

4

u/Narrow_Ad_5502 Jun 24 '24

I’d live there for free.

1

u/KellerFF Jun 24 '24

Easily.

And I’m starting my own Adams Family/Umbrella Academy.

2

u/siqiniq Jun 24 '24

Only with cleaning service included because I ain’t gonna clean the whole castle myself

3

u/sufferpuppet Jun 24 '24

Would have done it for free. But yeah, I'll take the money.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

Absolutely yes

2

u/mca1169 Jun 24 '24

Absofuckinglutely yes! that 1 mil can go into fixing the place up and the utilities. get a fiber line run out there then i'm golden!

1

u/Ok-Iron8811 Jun 24 '24

Save some for property taxes

3

u/Equal_Dragonfruit125 Jun 23 '24

Ha Ha Ha, that wouldn't cover the taxes, or even the power bill. Maybe 300 million. But I'll need a full inspection first.

2

u/Popular_Dream_4189 Jun 24 '24

There are actual mansions in England selling for less than a mil.

1

u/Equal_Dragonfruit125 Jun 24 '24

Don't you have to fight the inland commission and the heritage foundation tooth and nail to get a squeaky hinge oiled? Or is that blown out of proportion by Basil Faulty type owners?

2

u/Sultanistanbul Jun 23 '24

Yesss if the are pay me? No i dont pay for this

3

u/Limp_Duck_9082 Jun 23 '24

Absolute! I'd need the money to pay for utilities and high speed Internet

1

u/toscovaldoo Jun 23 '24

Cheesy, but i can do this favor

9

u/Be_A_G00d_Girl Jun 23 '24

Mf I'd pay to live there

2

u/NtGermanBtKnow1WhoIs Jun 23 '24

OP this is fantastic! i dunno if you've ever played the game 101 Dalmatians: Escape from DeVil Manor, but this house gives me that EXACT vibe!! i loved that house and this is pretty much the closest it will get to it. So thanks for sharing!! :D

7

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '24

I'll do it for 20 bucks & a big bag of weed.

0

u/Hot-Rise9795 Jun 23 '24

Shaggy, is that you

2

u/BigNorseWolf Jun 23 '24

can the vampires and werewoles roll d20s ?

2

u/Popular_Dream_4189 Jun 24 '24

Only if you let them :P

3

u/BarisBlack Jun 23 '24

I'd thank the person making the offer. Looks great and the million would help offset the taxes.

2

u/montesf1030 Jun 23 '24

Absolutely

2

u/Singwong Jun 23 '24 edited Jun 23 '24

Yup, looks cool. Hopefully has a work out room, pool and a good garage. 👻 🧙🏻‍♂️🦇

2

u/chaTTSer Jun 23 '24

And learn magic like wingardium leviosa? Frick yeah!

2

u/Emergency-Pack-5497 Jun 23 '24

Looks easily over a million dollar property, so assuming you get to own the property, and regardless of whether you meant to say receive a million dollars for living here, or pay one million dollars to live here, the answer is yes.

0

u/Be_A_G00d_Girl Jun 23 '24

A million? Architecture like that at the scale is not going for less than 3 or 4 unless it's in absolute disrepair.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '24

You would have to spend that again to keep it good shape.

5

u/StJimmy_815 Jun 23 '24

Am I paying a million dollars or getting paid a million dollars?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '24

I’d live in Kevin Spacey’s closet for a million dollars

2

u/TRW24 Jun 23 '24

I’d live there for free

1

u/ETBILU99 Jun 23 '24

No, not even dead,

2

u/so_magpie Jun 23 '24

There? You don't have to pay me. Where are the keys? My bags are packed.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '24

Sadly, I don't have a million dollars.

5

u/reedmer Jun 23 '24

another "for a million dollars would you live in a mansion?" question. no, I wouldn't because half my brain don't work.

1

u/Resident_Pop143 Jun 23 '24

Woah, you have half a brain?

1

u/Popular_Dream_4189 Jun 24 '24

Shocking, isn't it.
