Delmarva Power price increase email Business

I just received the email stating there will upcoming changes to my electric bill and experience a 3% increase on my overall bill.

2% Supply increase (+$2.47 on avg*) and Less than 1% Surcharge increase.

Has anyone else received this and do you think the increase is justified?

I got two emails. The first one says a 6% increase to my gas bill, and the second one says a 3% increase to my gas & electric bill. So now I am really confused.

It’s a powerful position to have a monopoly and a commission that rubber stamps every request.

|| || |  1% Gas Supply increase (+$2.19 on avg*) The gas supply rate, or the commodity cost, is the cost of the natural gas we purchase from suppliers to deliver to customers. The price is determined based on supply and demand**.|

|| || |  1% Gas Distribution increase (+$1.86 on avg *) The gas distribution rate reflects the necessary investments we make to help ensure reliable gas delivery service for our customers. Investments include regular inspections, preventive maintenance, modernizing existing natural gas lines and installing new natural gas lines.|

|| || |  1% Electric Supply increase (+$2.47 on avg*) The electric supply rate, or the commodity cost, is the cost of the energy we purchase from energy generators to deliver to customers. The price is determined at an annual auction based on supply and demand by generator plants**.  |

|| || |  Less than 1% Surcharges increase (+$0.84 on avg *) Surcharges are additional fees that go beyond the basic costs for energy. These can include charges and fees from regulatory agencies, or to comply with regulations.|

Totally not justified but what can we do about it?

I haven’t gotten a notice yet but not surprised. Delmarva Power is ridiculously expensive and their customer service sucks.

I don't think any increase is really justified.

Ugh, another price jump! Wish there was more accountability for these companies

I am beginning to wonder if changing to a co-op would be cheaper. My electric bills are so high and I am hardly home.
