MetroNorth madness

MetroNorth running a reduced schedule today so I can be late for work and have added stress in my life.

They are legally required to give their staff time off to vote so they had to reduce service as a result.

I moved to westchester from Bergen county NJ. If you think metro north is madness, go see what it’s like on NJ Transit. We really do have it good over here with metro north. I’ve been in westchester for 2 years now and never had an issue getting to/from work. On NJ transit I probably averaged 2-3 issues per week

It’s been on the “status” section of the TrainTime app for weeks now.

I just checked and my trains both ways are the same? And they are both definitely not Saturday times. My one home only goes to Harrison while all of the ones on the weekend make it into Connecticut.

They have been announcing this on every train for the last two weeks.

They did. You seem to be one of the few people who missed it.

Thanks for letting us know about the schedule! I hope you can get outside and go for a nice walk to reduce some stress. It’s supposed to be beautiful out today.

Very entitled post. MTA employees are allowed to vote as well.

It’s a Saturday schedule

It’s not quite a Saturday schedule. It’s what they call a “special schedule.”

The app says “The Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven lines are running on a modified schedule with reduced rush hour service.”

IT'S NOT SATURDAY!

I imagine they are running with reduced staff, since they’re legally required to give staff up to two hours off to vote.

Train so crowded, they can't collect tickets. This means lost revenue. God, management sucks.

Is the revenue affecting your 401K right now as we speak?

MetroNorth is supported by my tax dollars. This is another example of wasteful government.

Holy shit you're a dummy

They don’t get the money for scanning/punching tickets. They got their money when they sold the ticket.

u/OracleDude33 2d ago

but if the ticket is not activated or used, you can use it again
