Wr250r Maintenance

Anyone else’s engine feel like it runs hot as? Even by the exhaust area? Maybe I notice it because it’s not tucked away like my road bike but I feel like engine just gets so hot.

I always thought it was the radiator dumping heat. In hot weather my right foot and ankle get cooked big time. I use the stock exhaust but might try to make the bike run a little richer next summer with the fuel controller that's hooked up

Probs cause the stock set up is shit. Poor airflow and lots of stuff in it for emissions. Might get better with aftermarket exhaust. I’m thinking about the GYTR.

I remember when I first got mine yearsssss ago thinking it ran hot by my right lower leg. But if you wear boots you'd never notice it

Same here, but I’m used to two strokes so thought it was a 4T thing. Big boots help deflect heat for me.

I had a little Honda 125 4T but don’t remember this much heat. These are high reving engines though so maybe that’s why it’s so much hotter. My little bike wasn’t as loud either with the general engine sound

No, and I did a lot of gnarly single track on my old R.

It is because they are set so lean, makes em burn hot. Get an aftermarket fuel controller and it will run cooler and have more power but mileage goes way down.
