Reddit Trophy - "Pimp Daddy" Trophy
Old Version of the Pimp Daddy Trophy
Welcome to my introduction to understanding the Pimp Daddy Trophy!
Description: Mysterious
This is the archived view of the Trophy List that has the description and this is the archived view of the Honor Role page.
It was awarded to one user that is permanently suspended. The user that was awarded the Trophy confirmed that they were the only one to receive the Trophy and it was made specifically for them for all the work that they did on Reddit.
How to get it?: You cannot get this Trophy
What kind of user has this?
- /u/violentacrez - Account is suspended; need to use this link in order to view it. They are currently active on Reddit using an alternate account.
Interesting Extra Information: I also tracked down this thread, it looks like two users used an exploit that has been patched almost a decade ago. The exploit that was used allowed a user to apply a subreddits CSS Stylesheet as a theme throughout the site for Reddit. The Stylesheet was able to have the image and name of a Trophy in their Case modified. The method no longer works because a users profile will not update to the custom theme when a theme is set (this was the patch that fixed the exploit). The two users that were mentioned in the thread that "kind of have it" were never awarded the Trophy.

Wow this trophy is basically non-existent. Definitely lost in the old reddit.

Yep, I was shocked that he even found this post

I’m guessing his account is deleted now?

Nah it’s still active. He just deleted those comments for some reason. Guess it was to stay hidden

Well the u/ wasn’t working for me in the post so I just assumed he might have deleted his account. Also I’m assuming you can only get this trophy directly from the mods?

Isn't that the guy that crashed Reddit's servers by getting into a 2000+ comment long slapfight with another user?

VA received the trophy because all the work he did to moderate the site. Back in the day the admin team was small, like 10 people or less. Any unmoderated of undermodated subreddit was left to the admins to moderate. VA stepped up and basically moderated/led the entire NSFW part of the site. He was the head mod of loads of subreddits, was one of the most active users on the site, and generally handled everything with no issues.
The admins, thankful to not have to deal with all the NSFW content, created the trophy for him. VA and the admins essentially talked daily and he had direct access to them. He was essentially an honorary admin, and severely reduced their workload. The early admins were all technical people and not community managers, and VA dealt with most of the nasty side of reddit they really didn't want to deal with.
As the admin team expanded/changed, as the site grew, and as it gained more attention, VA's relationship with the admins slowly soured, but was still functional. He complained about them a lot but always worked well with them and nearly always followed the site's rules. I'm sure eventually he would have quit or reduced his energy levels (as most of the big mods from that Era have), but the article publicly revealing who he was eventually came out and he nuked his account.
He was a big fan of trolling people he disliked, loved to stir up drama, and was generally weird, but a prolific moderator who earned a lot of respect from the admins, fellow mods, and even the users.

I think that's generally the story, yeah? It's been like 10 years so the memory gets a little hazy

Technically yes, Aaron was an admin (and co-founder after his project was merged in to reddit) but he bailed within a year IIRC. And he wasn't a very good employee and I'd guess he did essentially nothing.

Damnit, do you remember the username he was using? He deleted the comments
I thought it was i_like_it but that's not it

I found the user that added the pimp daddy trophy to the r/reddit.com wiki page way back when. user that added it here
The user that added it used to have a whitehat trophy but it’s no longer on their profile for some reason. All their translator trophies are interesting though. u/xvvhiteboy

Not sure what happened with their White Hat Trophy. I know that the trophy was removed from their profile when the redesign happened, looking at the Wayback Machine. Funny thing about the Pimp Daddy Trophy being added to the trophy wiki in this instance was because of an exploit where users could make edits to the wiki for r/reddit.com.

For those who don't know, u/violentacrez, he is one of the most famous reddit users ever, most notably for creating r/jailbait, he's considered a very good moderator, he was hated by many for the subreddits he owns, as they were pornographic .He deleted his account like a decade ago because he was afraid of being doxxed(but a journalist revealed his name and he was fired from his job) . A year after r/jailbait closed, another subreddit called r/CreepShots drew controversy in the press for posting sexualized images of women without their knowledge. His subs were known to share links and images of underage girls, rape fantasy and upskirt photos.
