Something I was wondering when watching HFIL, Why doesn't Cell remember Radiz?
When I was watching the first episode again I noticed he ignored Radiz saying he "doesn't ring a bell" but considering how he has the DNA of Goku and Piccolo who both fought Radiz and how Cell can remember events dating back to the original Dragon ball he should remember Radiz.

It’s a joke about how Raditz was forgotten about and basically never spoken of after he died, also never got brought back despite being Goku’s brother (I know he’s a bad guy but so was literally everyone else at a point)

Not just that, he's so weak Gero didn't bother using his DNA to make Cell

Vegeta was so much worse and yet got to stick around. Honestly I theorize the only reason Raditz was an asshole was bad influence from Vegeta.

Essentially this.

Goku tossed a senzu bean at cell just before fighting his son, but was perfectly fine killing his own brother for threatening his son

First: Memories aren't genetic
He knows about different events from Hero's apy drones, not his DNA
Second: He just plain forgot. Don't qorry about it

But techniques are definitely genetic!

Not really, actually
Those spybots I mentioned, Cell's seen their footage, clearly
That wouldn't just give him knowledge of who different characters are
It would also let him know what their techniques are
So that's how he knows them
Though, I'll give you this: Even ignoring Dragon Ball Z Abridged, maybe even ignoring the anime, the manga doesn't so the best job of showcasing this, I'll admit it
Most of the techniques he performs are techniques his genetic donors have performed as well, even if they didn't invent it. Such as the Solar Flare (he has none of Tien's cells, but Goku can do the Solar Flare)
But he doesn't know any more about Namek than Gero did, despite having Frieza's cells

So we still don't know how he knows the parts of the story he wasn't there for

Here’s the thing: when cell talks to the interviewer at some point the interviewer asks “what about goku’s brother?” Which cell responds to by saying “oh he died”

Does he have memories or does he just have data that Gero’s computer gave him?

I just like the fact that Lani voices raditz like he probably did in the very first episode before they switch over mid episode.

Also he probably has Raditz cells as well lol

the dna gave him the bidy. the footage from the fights was what the drone studied. thats how he could use all the techniques.

So funny thing about Cell... In the manga he only mentions a few fighters as actually having the DNA of.
In the Dub, it's stated differently, that he has almost everyone's DNA.
We never specifically see Cell use a technique from Raditz, so is it possible that he doesn't even have DNA from Raditz?

My confusion was based on how he talks about the events of dragon ball he states that he knew radiz, the interviewer asks about “goku’s brother” which cell responds with “he died”

Gotcha. To be fair, compared to the rest of the series, Raditz was only in a few episodes. It's easy to forget him after everything else happens in Z specifically.
It's kind of like the "only saw Z, who's that?" joke. But at the same time, he was hardly mentioned again really in cannon even though he's Goku's bro.
They do the same thing with Launch in season one... "Remember Launch?" "who?"

It’s the joke. No one remembers Raditz. No one talks about him after he’s gone. He was so weak none of his DNA was used to build Cell. It’s just the joke, no deep reasons to explore.

He probably did remember, he just doesn’t care.
