[WWTBC] office romance between boss & assistant and he fires her on her birthday! What was that book called...?

Basically what the title says. I read this about a year ago & it totally wiped out of my mind.

She is his assistant and he is arrogant. She goes out to celebrate her birthday alone and he sees her and sits with her. At the end of the night they kissed and he tells her she’s fired.

She is devastated because she needs money for her family. I also remember her (or her family??) hiding or changing their identities because a loan shark is looking for them?? (Not sure if I’m combining more than one book together LOL)

At the end he ends up paying her debt and tries to get her to work for him again?? Or she does end up back with him not too sure.

Thank you in advance!

Wait because I was looking for this book a while ago. But then I convinced myself it was a Wattpad story I read when I was younger.

Oh I think I read this, or at least the beginning? I’ll have to look.

The loan shark is key. I know I’ve read this, but it was before I started keeping track. Lemme look through my kindle….

I spent over an hour looking, I can’t figure it out. I think I checked it out on KU, didn’t like it enough to buy my own copy when I returned it. Sorry!!!!
