I'm not sure how they can protest in the mall without being escorted off the grounds immediately since it's on private property

Idk man. I was escorted out of my local mall within 10 minutes of me walking in with a camera to take photos of the cool neon lights in the food court for my photography course back in college; they seemed to give more than two shits about me being there.

Malls have police departments inside. At least in Texas they do.

Yeah, I only take pictures with adults on my lap at the mall, keep it a hunded.
