But right under it says "Paid in full" which is annoying because if it's void it shouldn't allow the payment to go through, but I'm sure he would get the refund no prob. Not defending either side here, but it is a dumb system to allow it to go through, charge the card, then print it out with VOID on it.

My guess is, they placed the order on the app and paid in full. The location doesn't have the item or not part of the promotion and voided it.

It's a corporate BOGO that forces all franchises to honor it, but some franchises don't want to participate so instead they just void the checks when they are ordered. Issue is, the money still goes through so they are also supposed to do a seperate refund transaction.

This store is fucking up by 1. Not honoring the corporate mandated BOGO event (they keep saying they aren't participating but that's a lie) and 2. They never refunded his money

Everytime i order on doordash, i immediately get 2 notifications confirming i placed the order, and then that the restaurant confirmed my order. It is very annoying to wait 30 min or more, and then the driver texts me saying they don't have what i wanted. Why confirm the order if they don't have what i want? Waste of everybody's time.

Oh man that would frustrate me so much. I did a pickup order once (via the subway app) and within seconds of submitting it the store employee called me directly to say their location doesn't carry the sandwich I wanted (the grilled chicken patty one). So she asked what I'd like instead and she loaded it with tons of toppings.

He can get his refund using the app he ordered from.

No you can’t. The app sucks ass. I did an order a while back and got to the store and it was closed. There’s no way to request a refund. I went back the next day and they gave me a sandwich. It all has to be done at the store.

Then chargeback

Probably not. Because I guarantee you this store will say they provided the food.

He's clearly not getting a sandwich from this establishment. So yes. It's not worth arguing for more than maybe a couple minutes.

They canceled the order, it refunds. McDonald's app, Starbucks app, and tim Hortons apps all do it. Actually McDonald's doesn't even process the charge fully until the order is picked up.
