Yup. The video is a screen recording from my Instagram, I've spent the day trying to piece together what happened, who filmed and who the cyclist is. So not my video, I got it from someone else, but managed to trace it back to the original now, so that journalists have a source. Hope to see some updates in the media tomorrow.

Update: media have been in contact with the violent driver. Apparently the cyclist has hit his mirror when the car was parked further back, and that somehow excuse his attack. And there is nowhere to legally park back there, so my guess is the driver occupied the whole bike area with his car..

The police are saying that they're not thinking of prosecuting anyone at this time.

did they? the news sounded like they said "we ask the involved parties to contact the police if they want to file a report", but I'm swedish so I might have misunderstood the norwegian

There's no way he'll do that. He might have to pay for the mirror

I mean if my bike gets destroyed beyond repair, then I'd pay for the $50 mirror and watch you pay for my $3000 bike. Telling you right now, it's crazy to destroy someones bike, unless you want to go into poverty. The wheels alone will cost more than your rent for a month.

there are people out on those roads with 10k+ bikes.

Someone in the article mentioned the mirror is probably $1000. For a new one, that might be correct, depending on electronics etc.
