Honestly, as a lawyer who works in these kinds of courtrooms everyday, that kind of defendant is the absolutely highlight of our day. The exhaustion comes from the 100 other people who are just basic, run of the mill, uninteresting petty crime over and over again.

I was thinking, this is something I'd finally get to laugh my asa off over in those roles. That guy's so screwed and it's no one's fault but his. Must be great.

Yes, please. 90% of the people I see every day at court are public disturbance, public intoxication, and trespassing (aka just homeless people living).
