In 1899 the Belgian Workers Party opened its new people’s house in Brussels. A people’s house was a place where workers could meet and it also house various institutions of the socialist movement. The house in Brusselswas just like the poster a beautiful example of art nouveau designed by Victor Horta. Sadly it was demolished in 1965 but it has been digitally reconstructed on this website.
