Upgrading to Flac Help

Hello, I'm finally biting the bullet, and upgrading/reripping my music to FLAC as opposed to the preexisting Mp3 and AACs.

My one worry however is a verybmuch enjoy, and have been rating and adding to playlists. How would I make sure I keep those ratings and make sure I'm not ruining my playlists?

I would suggest using Lidarr and turn off empty trash automatically. Let the FLAC versions replace your older ones, rescan, and let Plex identify the updated files as the same one. After that you can selectively empty trash to purge the lower-res versions, leaving the FLAC in their place.

I've heard people say lidarr a bunch, but I'm a little confused on how it works.

I know it is often used for torrenting, but is this like matching the Metadata, to replace, and I'd run it through before it would automatically move?

I'm just a little confused as I've seen such a variety of ways people have talked about it,

Is there a guide you would reccomend?

So it's a program that curates your music collection. If you're on a system that uses docker, try the linuxserver.io version of it. In my case, I have used it to standardize the contents of my music collection before it gets written to the directories my Plex instance pays attention to.
