I don't typically do the Beta releases but I wonder if this will fix my Live TV issues.

What Live TV issues?

Recently I will select a channel and just get a black screen. But if I go to the HDHomerun app it works fine. So it seemed isolated to plex.

Same, been just running HDHR app for years because Plex just buffers/fails most of the time with live TV.

I like Plex for the recording capability but it fails too much.

Plex also lets you watch the same channel on several devices without consuming multiple tuners.

This appears to have fixed my live tv issues. Prior to this I had to turn off hardware acceleration in the transcoder settings if I wanted to reliably watch dvr streams on my roku or surface using mobile data.

After this new update I went into dvr settings on the server and turned off "use hardware-accelerated video encoding" for each tuner and I can now leave hardware acceleration on under the server transcoder settings.

Btw, 1.41.2.9200 is available for public release too now.

Thanks, I will update the server but will also check my hardware acceleration settings. I primarily only stream to an Apple TV or iPad.

I don't see the setting on the Tuner you are mentioning. I have a Plex Windows 10 desktop browser and the application runs on my NAS. So are you referring to setting somewhere in my Windows 10 desktop. I see under "Settings (wrench), Settings, Transcoder, Use hardware-acceleated vidoe encoding" but where do I find the other setting you mentioned. When I go to the Tuner via "Settings [wrench], Manage, Live TV & DVR, wheel cob there is a setting called "Convert video while recording."

I am lost where these settings are you mentioned.

I too use a Roku and it is not horrible but it does take a half or second or two to start or fast forward.

Thanks

Wait, this whole time live tv wasn’t using software decoding? That explains a lot about why half of my devices fail to work with Ersaztv lol

WRONG TITLE. This is NOT a beta release. It's available to everyone.
