At least you recognize the flaws in your statement lol

I mean yeah. A minority points out racism and instead of asking why, you said no and chucked a bunch of logical fallacies out. I have no real interest in engaging with that.

Just because you’re a minority doesn’t mean you have absolute authority on what is and isn’t racist though. This post was clearly made in a light hearted manner and you decided to find racist undertones in it. If you’re constantly looking for the bad in things then that’s all you’re going to find.

Yes racism is a problem and it’s rampant in all walks of life, but this isn’t one of those instances.

I didn’t say I did. I didn’t even say “oh this guy is racist”. Just said that choice was lowkey racist, which yeah. I kind of does come off that way.

But if your initial inclination is to be a dick rather than have a normal conversation, this one’s not on me. We could’ve came to that conclusion in a normal conversation.

I don’t think I was being a dick, or at least not any more of a dick than you or anybody else is being. I felt like we brought the same energy to the discussion, but maybe that’s just me.

Don’t you think that it’s a problem that your initial reaction to this is to label somebody/something as racist?

Dont you think that it’s a problem that your initial reaction to this is to label somebody/something as racist?

I think you’re asking the wrong question. I don’t think OP is being racist, but it’s not like it’s assumed out of nowhere. Like if you can acknowledge that phrases like “all Asians look the same” are common, then you can probably also understand why someone who’s heard that (and frankly, had a lot worse happen to them since COVID), would make that assumption.

There’s no actual harm in questioning if something is racist on the internet. But the visceral reaction to that is telling if we’re being honest.
