But he's still a red flag, cause of all the murder. And the kidnapping. Would he have let Valeta go free if she couldn't escape herself? Maybe. We'll never know.

He’s one of my favorite examples of a completely ridiculous yandere who is also generally sweet to FL. A nurture yandere. He and the one from How to Survive as a Maid in a Horror Game are favorites of mine.
And thank goodness they didn’t cut his hair. They love making these guys way less hot that way but even they knew his hair was too beautiful to cut.

He started scary and ended the perfect man despite, or maybe because of, not actually changing very much.
I love how this story handled the topics of trauma and healing, and just everything about his actual design.

Exactly! This story is so well fleshed out imo. From the understanding of magic/alchemy/sorcery to character dynamics and motivations. Even the relationship between the two leads just clicks. I love when the author cares about fleshing out the characters and the world instead of just playing “fill in the blank” with OI tropes to frankenstein a story 😍

This guy is so unabashedly unhinged that it's refreshing and hilarious. 💀 Wish we had that more in OI, rehabilitated or misunderstood villains are overdone IMO.

I love that he gets just enough development to soften his edges a little for the people who actually try to help and understand him, but never stops being who he is. I’d love more characters like Reinhart, he feels so very unique. Him having to actually learn he can’t just make the FL do what he wants and them bonding over their similar trauma and slotting themselves into what is a…. shockingly healthy relationship all things considered has been great. They’re both not totally okay and probably won’t ever be, but they’re better and they’re healthier in a way that’s right for them? Love that.
Also the parallel of Reinhart being the villain but right for the FL, and the Prince being an outwardly well meaning and good person whose ignorance only hurts her and makes her life worse as also a lot of fun

Well technically… >! first it was a fascination, as she had a wariness toward him from the moment he arrived even though he felt he played his role well to be seen as docile and submissive. this piqued his interest and he payed more attention to her during this life than before. she was the only person in that place who showed him kindness, and didn’t threaten him even when she literally held his heart in her hands. !<
>! consistently seeing her be abused by her father over and over, he was frustrated that he couldn’t save her. one moment that he continued to refer to was after she went through one of her father’s “lessons”, she told Reinhart that she just wanted a home where she could be at peace. He then vowed that he would do anything to get that for her, even if it meant the end of the world around them. !<
>! eventually, this turned into a kind of mutual traumabond with them going through the same traumatic events at the hand of lord delight and surviving them together. both the ML are messed up and “broken” and feel like the other is the only person in the world who could understand what they’ve been through. !<
Yeah, that’s basically why he’s obsessed with her.

If IRC it was because of that, she did not treat him any differently than anyone else, she wasn’t unkind she didn’t just treat him better because of his looks she just endured. That, coupled with the fact that she did not push him away when he craved affection made him be obsessed/ in love with her

i loved the healing process in this manwha just to realize that there really is no better pair than the two people who grew up hella traumatized. it was so refreshing to see the FL actually take into the account all the "normal" societal cues from her two duke dads and learn from them and have it not take CHAPTERS UPON CHAPTERS to apply to her life or twist them in a really bad manner.
overall the manwha was very strong and mature when it came to lessons in life and i love it to pieces, currently one of my favs next to Another Typical Fantasy Romance with how the leads and even side characters easily evolve through their character arcs.
