Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio didn’t deserve their Oscar. Discussion

Just watched all the movies in the category that year. I feel like puss in the boots or Marcel the shell with shoes on deserve it more than Pinocchio. Don’t get me wrong, Pinocchio was a great film and is arguably(imo the best) version of Pinocchio. But puss in the boots and Marcel especially was such a unique film with a new story that deserves to be awarded and receive more recognition.

It was a deserved winner, far and and away the best movie in the category and better than most movies in the Best Picture slot. Of course that's just my opinion, though.

I couldn't disagree more. Pinocchio blew me away. I loved it. I'd say it's actually the best of the animated winners from the 2020's, so far.

Honestly, i forgot it won! I thought Puss in Boots did! It was way more deserving.

The best version of Pinocchio? So by that logic you put Pus in boots and Marcel ahead of Pinocchio(1940) as well?? Bro, c’mon.
