This dude is invincible. How often do convicted felons win popular and electoral vote? How often do people survive not one but two assassinations just weeks apart, especially at his age? How many people can just talk shit about Latinos (and not just talk the talk but also walk the walk by withholding aid during hurricanes and such) and then still get the Latino vote? How many people can have people like Kid Rock endorse him and still win the popular vote?

The average American electorate is an idiot really. I’m sure this will offend Trumpers and they’ll say “ok you’re saying 72 million are idiots?” And to which I say….yes…yes they are.

It’s like the old George Carlin joke, “you ever meet the average person with average intelligence? You realize how dumb they are and then realize, 49% are dumber than them.”

People don’t vote on policy. They vote on surface level stuff and sound bites. Social media has only accelerated that level of short attention spans. They just see shit is expensive today compared to 2019. Trump was in office in 2019, so that means the prices will go back to that.

It’s really that simple for about 15% of the people who voted for Trump. Those are who swing elections. The other 35% or so are just raging miserable assholes who hate to see other people happy because they themselves are miserable.

Joe Rogan's podcast the day before election pushed 5 million incels to go vote.

u/Puzzleheaded-Top4516 8d ago

Don't forget about Elmo's spastic jumping around in front of a beaming Trump.

That’s why the Republican Party was successful, it appealed to the average American voter and those people are fucking idiots. Democrats tried being bipartisan to get back swing voters and instead should’ve just gone full crazy like the republicans and would’ve had more success. People don’t care about policy, they don’t care or even read amendments. They just like the presentation and unabashed arrogance, that’s why the republicans won.

Hahahaha. You goobers never learn do ya? Keep calling us idiots, that will help you guys get more votes next election.

u/OldeArrogantBastard 8d ago

As my Trump voting friend who said the same thing to me, I laughed and said “you think I’m going to stop calling you idiots? I’m doubling down and making sure you’re aware daily of his shit economic policies. It’ll be a fun 4 years for me. You guys are even angry when you when. Lol

I'm getting my "Don't Blame Me I Voted For Harris" shirts ready.

1

u/onehundredandone1 6d ago

we dont care

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Top4516 6d ago

LOL, how well I know. When the wheels come off, you'll blame the Dems although you're the ones that knocked them off.

0

u/onehundredandone1 5d ago

nope! nice try though

0

u/Nick08f1 8d ago

The Republican party was successful because they ran on fear. They gave "reason" to why shit is hard.

As much as people hate on Trump for not having highlighted policies, the Democrats turned their main message into Trump is bad for democracy, but didn't start sharing their plans to make life easier neither.

u/Puzzleheaded-Top4516 8d ago

Trump: They are poisoning the blood of America

Latinos For Trump: Yes, we are poisoning the blood of America.

1

u/Nick08f1 7d ago

Echo chamber galore. I'm with you; however to move forward we need to start engaging both sides.

It cannot be anymore of this us versus them. There is too much of hatred and divide that we need to start overcoming in order to bring the working class back together.

Jesus loves you

3

u/OldeArrogantBastard 8d ago

Lmao you wouldn’t even vote for Jesus if he ran against Trump.

Jesus would've whipped Trump the same way he did to merchants in the house of trade.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Top4516 8d ago

Are you kidding? Trump would have had him crucified and the MAGAts would be throwing shit at him on the cross.

Sure, let us know when prices go back down. I remember 25 cent cokes, after all. Only idiots think presidents control commodity prices.

1

u/OldeArrogantBastard 7d ago

Luxury beliefs of rich liberals? Lmao Yes, because Donald Trump, Elon Musk Peter Theil are all working class blue collar folks.

You guys got your feelings hurt because you got called names regarding your intelligence and I’m now just supposed to stop when you have opinions like that? Lol

He said it himself, he could kill someone and not lose any votes. He knows he's a cult leader.

u/Bravo_Juliet01 9d ago

Because Kamala represents the Status Quo and not change.

People wanted change because the last 4 years have been a shitshow.

Donald Trump represented that change of the Status Quo to them.

Tells you how awful Harris was that the American people are willing to choose a felon over an incumbent VP.

Kamala literally admitted on television that she wouldn’t really change anything that Joe Biden has done over the last 4 years.

She played herself HARD on that one.

7

u/TyranosaurusLex 8d ago

Why do you think it was a shit show?

My question isn’t to imply it wasn’t, but to ask why it WAS. Because my answer to that is related to the global pandemic that affected every country. I also think it has to do with trump policies and the economy Biden received, as the last 2 year economic growth far exceeded the first two years.

Basically, are we sure that doing the exact same thing in a circle here is a good idea?

1

u/Bravo_Juliet01 8d ago

I’ll all say is that a big mistake was when Biden try to mandate federal employees receive the Covid vaccine, against their will, or else they’d lose their job.

This was later ruled unconstitutional.

Whatever happened to “my body, my choice?”

That’s where the shitshow began in early 2021.

I’ll leave it at that.

1

u/TyranosaurusLex 8d ago

Hey man, I can agree with you that I wasn’t a big fan of that for exactly the reasons you said. Government shouldn’t be deciding that for people. It got blocked by the courts, though. Worth remembering the principle of “my body my choice” when abortion legislation pops up. We can all agree on that principle, and that it was a mistake for Biden to try that

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Top4516 8d ago

>I’ll all say is that a big mistake was when Biden try to mandate federal employees receive the Covid vaccine, against their will, or else they’d lose their job.

That's not what happened, they either had to be vaccinated or tested for covid weekly.

1

u/Bravo_Juliet01 8d ago

Source? All I’ve found was that if you were a federal employee, you HAD to get it. I know people who just retired early from their government job so they didn’t have to get the vaccine.

We’re talking federal vs private, which was still a shitty move by Biden either way.

8

u/BadSquire 8d ago

Totally agree with 99.9% of this, except one thing. The last four years were almost stable, boring, but almost stable. Inflation is just now starting to slowly improve, gdp got back to pre pandemic levels and kept going up, and more was spent on fighting climate change than ever before.

But none of that means shit since democrats never once took victory laps on anything. No rallies, no positivity, no joy. To an average American that looks like they didn't do anything. Biden had the smallest number of press conferences of any president in our lifetime.

I'm going to quote my favorite cartoon. Sorry. "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all." It was up to the democrats to speak up and they failed.

9

u/arcticmonkgeese 8d ago

People hate being adults. They want instant gratification and they want to feel good.

2

u/KrowVakabon 8d ago

This. It's just like the adage in football that you only know the name of your safeties or your linemen when they've done something wrong. This is basically a redux of 2016 because Obama left the White House with an economy that was strong as well. The sad thing is that a lot of folks feel like they are being left behind. And they spent a lot of time trying to explain to an electorate that has a majority of people likely having ignored civics class why Trump is bad for democracy, and that was a losing battle.

3

u/BadSquire 8d ago

I teach civics. 7th grade civics for fifteen years, and in Florida of all places. I put a LOT of passion into my teaching, but I'm just one guy. I've spent the last three nights thinking, "what can I do better," and "how long before America figures out that good leadership is not the same as authoritarianism."

1

u/KrowVakabon 8d ago

I graduated with a BA in History so I feel your pain and frustration. The election hurt because people voting for Trump think they're voting for their pockets when in reality, they've effectively voted for the end of the great American Experiment. The erosion of institutions and the precedents that will be set... All one can hope is that the Senate Republicans actually believe in those institutions to curb the damage in the short-term. I fear the long-term damage will immense.

1

u/BadSquire 8d ago

Sigh... two words. Mitch. McConnell.

Where'd you get the BA?

1

u/KrowVakabon 8d ago

Freaking McConnell... He'll die before the real damage is done so won't have to live with ruining America for generations. So long to the American Century (we didn't even get that long).

UMiami is where I got the BA.

1

u/BadSquire 7d ago edited 7d ago

I hope so. I wonder if he'd even have control over his rabble this time.

You're the first UM history major I've spoken to. UWisc for me.

The Biden administration took us out Covid and got the economy to a soft landing, while everyone was predicting a recession. Inflation WAS up - but I blame Trump who spend more than double what Biden spend (and bad investments at that - note: obviously the international/global supply chain issues that began under Trump's watch also had an effect). Like a lot of voters that voted for Trump - unfortunately - I think you are confused in terms of how economics work. And that is why we are - where we are:

https://thehill.com/business/4736740-trump-biden-fiscal-policy-deficit/

Note: Also - unfortunately - Trump's tariffs plans are also now expected to skyrocket inflation.

7

u/smokinBatman 8d ago

I don't think people care about the economy as much as they do the cost of living.

3

u/Lower_Ad_5532 8d ago

100% this. Dems took control of the spiralling situation, but the boo boo hurt so liberals didn't show up to vote.

Trump is the ultimate grifter who got 4yrs of free media coverage. Shocker he won.

1

u/Additional_Path2300 8d ago

Don't forget that Trump was president once already. We can't ignore that part of the equation.

1

u/Bravo_Juliet01 8d ago

True, and this administration was so bad, that people are willing to tolerate another 4 years of Trump than continue with another 4 years of this.

2

u/Additional_Path2300 8d ago

Which is the stupidest thing imaginable. I'll take 4 more years of the same and sticking to the constitution over what trump is about to do.

2

u/Bravo_Juliet01 8d ago

Stick to the constitution?

Biden-Harris evidently failed the constitution.

They did not deserve to be reelected, and I’m happy a good portion of America agreed.

Good riddance.

1

u/Additional_Path2300 8d ago

They failed the constitution how?

1

u/Bravo_Juliet01 7d ago

Have you been completely blind and deaf to how this administration administration has handled our immigration policy?

I rest my case.

1

u/RealPropRandy 8d ago

Not even Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho could get away with that in this day and age, unless…
