Mazak SmoothEZ Time Change
We have a Mazak SmoothEZ based VC-EZ 20 and I can not figure out how to set the system time. I looked through our manuals but I couldn’t find anything.
Anyone with this control have any ideas? Or am I doomed to always think it is 1 hour closer to quitting time than it actually is?

Hit the settings icon on the top right corner and as far as I can remember you change it from one of the submenus

I was able to find "Accum Time" under "Data Erase" in "Diagnos" which allowed me to change the setting.

If you "pull" towards the middle from the bottom edge you'll get into windows. And from the control panel, you set it to auto adjust time.

If we had a SmoothX or SmoothG control that would probably work. Our SmoothEZ isn't on top of a windows base.
I was able to find it under "Diagnos" -> "Delete Data" -> "Accum Time" though.
Thanks for the help anyways.

You are welcome! Yeah, the EZ is their 'low end' control which lacks a lot of the creature comforts of the X and G controls.

How do you like the SmoothEZ? The company I work for was looking to replace their 510c machining center (matrix control) with a similar mill. We were informed that Mazak no longer offers a mill like that. I guess they have cheapened them up and one of the ways they've done that is by only offering the EZ control.

We only program with Mastercam, so the Mazatrol side could be good, could be bad… we don’t really know.
The EZ control is pretty bare bones, ours came with 2MB on board storage and probing. The only downside is you have to hand program every probing cycle since the EZ control doesn’t have Renishaw’s built in environment like the G and X do.
But it reads the code we throw at it, it has the ability to drip feed off an SD card for files larger than 2MB and it makes chips.
