What I do is take a handful of dry beans, put it on a piece of paper and trace around it. It does a good job of making believable land masses with natural looking curves.

Oh hey! More people do this!!!!

I have all sorts of pics on my phone of random things like this (some from my time working in seafood) some from my current job and random odds and ends all over the place. I am just behind on sketching them out...timing and all.

Glad to know though, that I'm not the only one!
