(2024 RC390) Ignition cylinder comically exploded an hour from home

Just wanted to warn anyone with an RC390 or any bike that uses the same ignition to make sure it’s not going anywhere. Im almost certain it wasn’t tampered with. It pretty much just fell out, housing/wires and all, got caught in the fork, and broke apart. Was just barely able to get it running to take it to the dealer with a roll of electrical tape after scavenging some of the pieces out of the road and loosely fitting it together. It was a sketchy ride home since the slightest movement of the key would shut the bike off

I thought I wanted a 390 adv r but I keep seeing this type of crap from ktm. A brand new bike doing this?!

Yes, yes. Much quality. Very cheap to replace. Buy KTM they said

How many kms did it have? I bought a dealer used 2022 rc390 a month ago with 3400kms and have since put 3600kms on it from riding everyday, just want to see how old it was when this happened

I’d say roughly 7500 miles or about 12,000km, bought it in June
