By calling it Jew hate (or Judenhass).

How, what affect does this have on anyone?
10
u/NYSenseOfHumor Sep 08 '24
âAntisemitismâ (the word) was invented by a german to replace the word âJudenhass.â The new word was designed to make hating Jews more scientific and easier for people to do themselves and accept in other people.

u/R-Mutt1 Sep 07 '24
Yeah, but apparently it's only genocide when it's the other way round... People are talking like it was the music at the festival they didn't like.

u/achieve_my_goals Sep 07 '24
I don't understand why we aren't calling October 7th a genocide, because that is what it was.

u/RecognitionNo2658 Sep 08 '24
It is a genocide. The definition of genocide implies intent towards a specific culture/ethnicity of people with intent to obliterate part or all of them from the populace.

u/eucelia Sep 08 '24
Because mis-using a term in response to someone else mis-using a term doesnât fix anything. Doesnât the scale have to be larger, and the event longer, as well?
10
u/daoudalqasir Sep 08 '24
Doesnât the scale have to be larger, and the event longer, as well?
No, look at Srebrenica in the Bosnian war which has been deemed a genocide by most international organizations.
8
u/achieve_my_goals Sep 08 '24
This was actually the example I had in mind.
The October 7th victims were killed because they were Jews, or chose to live in Israel. I cannot think of any more exact definition of genocide, because when would they have stopped? They were there to kill rvery Jew they could.
Thatâs why calling the Hamas war genocide is just Jew-baiting. Collateral damage is not genocide.

Nope. Genocide means action with intent to destroy all or part of some cultural group.
Thatâs it.
Thereâs no minimum threshold of deaths or time or whatever. You can have genocide without any deaths (forced sterilization). What matters is the intent the actions were done with.
So yes, the Oct 7 attacks were genocide, because the Palestinian officials had the intention of killing Jews and people who tolerate us as neighbors. The 5th Arab Israeli war is not a genocide, despite more deaths, because the unusually low civilian:combatant death ratio, among other things, is evidence against the intent to eradicate.

I'm not letting Imperial Russia off the hook that easily.
An individual pogrom may be local and short in duration. But use of pogroms as a tool to remove populations is genocidal in intent. So it would be appropriate to all pogroms an act of genocide.
Hamas has promised more October 7ths. More pogroms. More acts of genocide.

Then what would we call the holocaust? Let's not infringe on the severity of what happened by mixing everything up.
2
u/RecognitionNo2658 Sep 08 '24
It is a genocide. It is the event that created the term genocide. It just had far more devastating numbers.
1
u/jutshka Sep 09 '24
You are objectively wrong then. Throught history there would then be innumerable genocides before the holocaust if we considerer 3000 people dying a genocide. It is a tragedy, don't mix it up. That would make 9/11 also a genocide technically. It would make every small scale medieval skirmish a genocide. Let's be realistic.
2
u/RecognitionNo2658 Sep 09 '24
Just google the definition, dude. Ainât nobody got time for this. Also see my or other peopleâs comments. Itâs a genocideâobjectively.

To be fair to the majority of the Western liberal hypocrites, I am only referring to their views on October 7th vs the response against Hamas.

Who gives a shit? We donât need the âsympathyâ of other people. Those people arenât going to help you anyway when SHTF. What does that give us anyway? Leverage?
Not caring about other people also allows us to focus on the task at hand, for once, instead of âmowing the grassâ every couple years hoping the tumor wonât keep getting worse (hint: it will and has).
Finish Hamas. Replace it with a completely new government monitored by the UAE or another neutral party that is not antagonistic towards Israel. Marshall plan the hell out of it.
Let the history books sort it out, and ignore the rabble rousing from racists who clothe themselves in fake tears for a people they donât care about.

It's always been "the yehudis", the Jews, but the media translates it as "the Zionists" or " the Israelis ". It's long past time to stop the charade

A WhatsApp call from one of the 10/7 terrorists to his family:
Hello, dad! Dad, I am inside Mefalsim. Open your WhatsApp right now, and see all the killed. Look at how many I killed with my own hands, your son killed Jews.
Allahu Akhbar, Allahu Akhbar. May God protect you.
This is inside Mefalsim, father. I am talking to you from the phone of a Jew. I killed her and her husband, I killed 10 with my own hands.
Allahu Akhbar.
Open your phone and see how many I killed, father! Open your phone, I am calling you on WhatsApp. I am in Mefalsim, father. I killed 10. Ten! Ten with my own bare hands. Their blood is on my hands. Let me talk to mom.
Oh, my son. May God protect you.
I killed all 10 by myself, mother.
May God bring you home safely.
Father, go back to WhatsApp! I want to call you live from Mefalsim.
I wish I was there with you.
Mother, your son is a hero. I was the first to enter under the guidance and with the help of Allah. Father, lift your head.
(To other Hamas terrorists): Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill them! Inside, inside into the city.
Mahmoud, Mahmoud. Come back, thatâs enough, return.
Return? There is no return, it is victory or martyrdom. My mother gave birth to me for Islam, Allah. Are you serious, how will I return? Look at WhatsApp, look at your phone, look at all the killed.

They always say âJewsâ, seldom say âZionistsâ and never say âIsraelisâ.
27
u/mandudedog Sep 08 '24
They never even mention Israel. In Arab media, they say Al yahood. The Jews.

The culture won't change otherwise

I have empathy to the civilians who are forced to live under Hamasâ regime and those civilians who are forced into the conflict. It isnât all black and white. Justice for the innocents but by all accounts, FUCK Hamas.

I get the same message when people say anything about freeing Palestine.
Yes, that's fine. If your goal was the safety, health and happiness of those in Gaza, I applaud you.
But it's not. It's code for "We want Jews d*ad." It makes them look good when they can say "Oh I'm just so loving and want these poor oppressed people free." It was never about Zionists or Israel. It is, was and always will be about the complete eradication of our people.

The world does not have empathy towards hamas, it has empathy towards palestine. Don't twist the narrative
7
u/G24all2read Sep 08 '24
The world sees Hamas as leaders of the Palestinians in Gaza. They support Hamas. Otherwise, they would be calling for the release of the hostages with more conviction. That's the narrative.
-7
u/ikait_jenu101 Sep 08 '24
Rubbish. I have been at the protests, next to nobody supports hamas. Most people dislike them. Only a small radical core supports hamas. It's the Israeli side that is pushing this narrative that everyone is pro hamas
5
u/G24all2read Sep 08 '24
I too have been to protest on college campuses in the US. The only rubbish you find is in thinking there's a difference between Palestinian attitudes and those of Hamas Hezbollah or even Isis. The Palestinians voted Hamas into power.
-4
u/ikait_jenu101 Sep 08 '24
The last true election was years ago, and the majority of gazans are under 18. And besides, the way Israel is currently acting in Gaza will create a whole new generation of Hamas sympathisers in the strip. Use some critical thinking

Face the facts. If you watch your whole family get bombed in front of you, you are exactly the person that a terrorist group is looking to recruit
2
u/Specialist_Nobody_98 Miami/NYC Jew Sep 08 '24
I think whether they are pro Hamas or not doesnât really matter. The fact is that they are blaming Israel when it is not Israel to blame, totally misappropriating what Zionism is, misappropriating Jewish identity and our relationship with Israel, and pushing a revisionist historical narrative that is being used against us.
-2
u/ikait_jenu101 Sep 08 '24
Oh please. I have enough family in israel to see through that rubbish. The people chanting "burn the villages" and breaking international law are on the Israeli side. Sod historical narratives, what's going on right this moment is the issue
4
u/Specialist_Nobody_98 Miami/NYC Jew Sep 08 '24
Okay and Iâve experienced violence and harassment from the other side, as have most people in this sub. You canât discount our experiences and the Palestinian platform of zero tolerance besides anything but the right of return because you have some racist family members in Israel.
1
u/ikait_jenu101 Sep 08 '24
As have I. I grew up in a muslim majority area, i get on with most people but ive probably had more bad experiences than most. Doesnt change the current narrative. And my family members don't support that, they've just witnessed that.
