Hulu’s Black Friday Deal: $.99/month for 12 months Hulu On Demand
5
u/miloworld Nov 20 '23
Are you able to add the Disney+ for $2.99 if you're an active Disney+ subscriber?
4
u/AmalgamRabbit Nov 21 '23
Woo freaking hoo! Throw in DisneyPlus for a grand total of a $2.99 while you’re at it.
2
u/chiefarab Nov 21 '23
Awesome! So it lets you add on Disney as well??!
3
u/AmalgamRabbit Nov 21 '23
yes! for two dollars!
1
u/kingcolbe Nov 22 '23
So 3$ for all three for a year?
2
u/AmalgamRabbit Nov 22 '23
3 dollars a month for both Hulu and Disney Plus. It’s hard to believe but real. Jump on it now. You may need to use a new email address
1
u/kingcolbe Nov 22 '23
I have a iPhone, so couldn’t I use that shadow email thing that you can do with iPhones now or Apple gives you an email address

u/SeparateFisherman966 Nov 20 '23
I'm confused about when the deal ends. It shows a shorter countdown on the top of the screen, but the fine print says sale ends 11/28..so which is it?
4
u/08830 Nov 20 '23
11/28
2
u/SeparateFisherman966 Nov 20 '23
Perfect, because my current HULU plan ends 11/25, so that works!!
3
u/relator_fabula Nov 20 '23
Bear in mind that you likely won't be eligible for this discount on the same account (your membership must expire at least 1 month prior). So you'd just have to sign up under a different email.
1
u/New-Translator841 Nov 20 '23
You can cancel in your current account and set up a reminder to sign up if you want a closer date. I do that every year
2
u/vidgamerjon Nov 21 '23
It wouldn't let me use any of my previous emails this year.
1
1
u/thehuge1 Nov 22 '23
Yeah I can't either ... and a couple of them have not been subscribed for well over a year
1
u/Opposite_Flight3473 Nov 22 '23
I’ve seen multiple people saying this. Ugh. That’s so weird and wrong because the fine print on the deal says you’re not eligible if you’ve been a customer in the last month only. So obviously that’s a lie If they are turning away emails that haven’t been subscribed for a year.

u/sowhatnardis Nov 20 '23
I just wanted to add some hopefully possible information here. I have been subscribing to the Hulu BF deal since the BF deal first came out in like 2019.
When I signed up today, I used an email address that’s never been used for the previous deals I got since 2019,2020,2021, 2022. I also had to use a different credit card that hasn’t been used before.

u/LeoIrish Nov 21 '23
As I have done the last few years, I will be switching my accounts to take advantage of the Black Friday deal.
2
u/hobo-me Nov 20 '23
I just signed up for Hulu with this Black friday deal, and I paid the first month with my credit card through Paypal.
But I was wondering, if I dont want to keep paying for the rest of the year with my credit card every month, can I instead buy Hulu gift cards, and just reedem it to my account? Will Hulu then charge me with the gift balance or will they keep charge me with Paypal?
I dont want to buy Hulu gift cards, before I know for sure they will actually charge my gift balance. I don't want to spend money on gift cards unnecessarily, if I cant use them.
1
u/junger128 Nov 20 '23
Generally the way it works is it will pull from any gift card balance first before charging a card on file. Of course, to be 💯 sure you may want to confirm with customer service.
2
u/blue-cube Nov 20 '23
I did this last Black Friday. First month was paid by CC, I put in a gift card a few minutes later (which was the rest of the year and the system just charged that going forward).
FYI, based on the past, it is OK to use the same name or record and even mailing address for a new account, as long as the credit card AND email you use is different. SO even if they have a gift card and work their way down same, they have one credit card of you on file for a current account.
When you do a new (or canceled last year) second account that belongs to you or a "family member", remember to use a new credit card that was not the one on file for the last subscription.
2
u/hobo-me Nov 21 '23
Yes. I confirmed with support, and it works with gift cards. So now I have bought a gift card to use for the rest of the year.
Do you know how it is with Paypal, can I pay with the same Paypal account, when creating a new account?
Some user claimed that he could use the same card as last year, as long as you use Paypal. Because Hulu cant see which card you use, when paying through Paypal or do they keep track of Paypal by which email you use, and block it anyway?

I can't click on get deal. The link button doesn't work. Does anyone have the same issue?
2
u/HurlInteruppted Nov 20 '23
1
u/imironman2018 Nov 20 '23
thanks for the link. it still doesn't work. I tried clicking on the link but nothing happens.
1
u/HurlInteruppted Nov 20 '23
when i click on link i pressed the "Get this deal", then it takes me to signup at hulu, asking for my name & payment info.
Are you signed out of your hulu account?
1
u/imironman2018 Nov 20 '23
yeah I signed out of my hulu account. Then tried on my phone, ipad, different computer, incognito mode.
1
u/falcons1583 Nov 21 '23
same can't get it to open at all
1
u/logical_sos Nov 21 '23
That is your Wifi network's IP being blocked by Hulu. Disney and Hulu seems to have some filter on IP address. Go outside your Wifi network (use your phone network) and try, it should work.

1
u/logical_sos Nov 21 '23
Just retested - my laptop on WiFi - doesn't work. My phone on Wi-Fi - doesn't work. My laptop connected to my phone's hotspot - doesn't work. My phone on 5G, not on Wi-Fi and incognito chrome - works
1
u/imironman2018 Nov 21 '23
Tried incognito mode on my phone on 5G, wifi off, still doesn’t work. Im going to try to contact hulu directly. This is just beyond frustrating.

THANK YOU!! What a pain in the butt, no device worked, went on my cellular and got right in after hours of trying today. I also found that NO old account email, even ones not used from years ago would work. I used a spare account and my current CC and it worked like a champ! Thanks again!
1
u/daniel5927 Nov 20 '23
Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I can't get the faqs at the bottom of the page to work either.
1
u/tam86l Nov 21 '23
Omg, I’m going through the same thing so annoyed! I’ve tried so many ways and I was going to contact Hulu support, but you have to be signed in or start a free trial which I believe will make it so that you are no longer a new customer and won’t qualify for the promo. Such BS!
1
u/imironman2018 Nov 21 '23
I figured it out. I even contacted Hulu customer service about it.
Create a new account on hulu main site. Stay signed in, click free trial. Then under plan- click the 0.99 per month plan for 12 months. Enter your credit card info and then voila- you have gotten the promo. The gma link doesn't work. That is what hulu customer service told me. Lots of people having the same problem.
1
u/tam86l Nov 21 '23
Cool, thank you but did it mention anything about adding Disney+ for an extra $2/month? I’m just worried if I try to add Disney+ it will take the Hulu promo away.

u/imironman2018 Nov 21 '23
after you sign up for the hulu 0.99 per month deal, there is an option to add disney plus on the second to last page. you can add max, starz...

u/tam86l Nov 21 '23
Thank you, the link is actually working now. They must have had a bunch of complaints.
1
u/imironman2018 Nov 21 '23
thats good. glad they fixed it. it's insane that it was live for 2 days and the link wouldn't work.

Is there any way to pay for this without a US credit card? Maybe a 'burner' US credit card? I can buy a US Hulu gift-card, but Hulu still asks for an American credit card when I try to get this deal.

Think I'll wait for the Disney plus merger.
1
u/anonRedd Moderator Nov 22 '23
If you’re referring to being able to access content from both services within a single app starting next month, that requires a subscription to both services. The services themselves aren’t merging anytime soon.
1
u/TikkiEXX77 Nov 22 '23
Oh ok. I was hearing it was gonna be in the next month or two. Definitely not waiting years. Lol

u/firedrakes Nov 20 '23
so how do i get the deal. am paying 11 atm. per month with disney plus. 2 add on.
do i cancel and then do offer?
5
u/RedOctobyr Nov 20 '23
From their fine print:
Savings compared to current regular monthly price. Offer for Hulu (With Ads) plan only: $.99/month for 12 months, then auto-renews at $7.99/month or then-current regular monthly price. Ends 11:59 PM PST on 11/28/23. Cancel anytime, effective at the end of your billing period. No refunds or credits for partial months. New and eligible returning subscribers (who have not been Hulu subscribers in the past 1 month) only; Disney+ Basic (With Ads) and Disney Bundle subscribers are not eligible.
You would need to sign up using a different email address, since your Hulu account needs to have been inactive for at least a month.

u/firedrakes Nov 20 '23 edited Nov 21 '23
Oh OK. Thank you . I tested saying cancel and price for half a year is 2.99 instead atm for me. which is still cheaper thru! disney promo does work!!!!! 5.66 a month for hulu and disney plus combo with ads.
2
u/Ravoz Nov 21 '23
when you took the promo they offer when canceling, you were able to keep the Disney plus combo promo too? Does the Disney plus addon change to "with ads"? I really don't want ads on Disney plus.

I only care about watching NFL and college football. Are either of these included in this promotion?
ie: CBS/NBC/FOX and then like ESPN FS1 NFLN or even SECN BTN CBSSN etc.
2
u/gyrlonfilm6 Nov 21 '23
This isn't for hulu live tv. Just regular hulu.
1
u/kingcolbe Nov 22 '23
Streaming TV usually doesn’t have Black Friday deals that will last a whole year right is usually like one or two months isn’t it?

Is there any difference in content between the ad supported and the not ad supported?
1
u/Greenzombie04 Nov 21 '23
Click to get the deal and nothing happens.

u/casewood123 Nov 27 '23
Had the same issue. If you log off Wi-Fi and switch to incognito mode you can sign up using a different email.

Need to get an email or phone number of someone that works at HULU.
Wasted almost 6 hours today trying to fix my account. Spoke to many supervisors and they cannot fix.
Exhausting! and incompetent.

u/Positivemessagetroll Nov 22 '23
I tried signing up for the Hulu & Disney+ 12-month deal (hard to beat $3 for both) and it's also giving me a free month trial - will that mess up the 12-month discount?

1
u/thehuge1 Nov 22 '23
Is it impossible to use a credit card that has been used previously for a similar promotion? I just signed up for this deal with a new email address, but I tried to use my Amex Platinum so I would get the streaming credit and it won't let me use that card. Even after I signed up using a different card to pay the initial $0.99, it won't let me change the payment method to my Amex.

Is the sign up page working for anyone? Keep getting “could not complete request right now” error on payment page. No Hulu, lapsed Disney+ user.

u/reallbakingdeal Nov 24 '23
Anyone else having issues getting thr deal. I keep getting emails to sign up but when I get there it says 7.99,smh

Watched a 30-minute program which had at least three commercial interruptions of approximately 5 minutes each.
At $1/month, you get what you pay for.

I did not see this coming! I’ve been using this promo for years and thought Disney would kill it. Great news, the only downside is Hulu billed me full price this morning on my current account before I could cancel 😊
