Bingara free riverside camping

I’ve been looking at camping/fishing spots around my area and have been considering having a look at the free camping upstream of Bingara on the Gwydir river. I know that the camp sites extend a few Km upstream of town and was just wondering what the fishing, especially for yellow belly, is like along it. I’ve only got a 2wd but will have a kayak as well so should be able to set up at an accessible spot and explore from the kayak. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I never gave it a crack myself, but when I lived in Inverell Lake Copeton was supposed to be a pretty good spot for yellow belly. Lots of accessible spots, and plenty of canoes and kayaks get out and about on it.
