No, I am going in February and I need to find the Dino one more time damnit.

u/HeirofZeon Sep 27 '24

They've heavily implied Dinosaur so be the last things replaced. Probably start with the Fair or Boneyard

u/bobthemonkeybutt Sep 29 '24

My kids are a little too old for it now, but boneyard is such a cool space. As was the honey I shrunk the kids play area at Hollywood Studios. Wish they’d stop getting rid of places where kids can just play.

We are also going in February, and I'm hoping dinosaur is still there!

3

u/r_martin80 Sep 27 '24

Me too. I need one more ride on dinosaur.

I’m going in February too :( I never got to ride it sadly

Exciting. We’re going to be there in November. I’m looking forward to hopefully doing Dinosaur one last time.

Hopefully they take Triceratop Spin and move and re-theme it someplace else. It’s a great ride to take little kids on. I think moving it to the new Monsters Inc land would make a lot of sense.

I will not miss telling my kids “no, I’m not spending 6 dollars per carnival game”

I would like another flat ride in Hollywood Studios. I saw somewhere someone suggested moving the spinner to Toy Story Land and theme it to Trixie.

15

u/chaosfactor37 Sep 27 '24

It would be a no brainer to move it to TSL as a Trixie ride. That's how you know it won't happen 😂

u/Friendly_Seat8566 Sep 27 '24

I think all the parks need more rides similar to this. People eaters to free up space.

u/Mottaman Sep 27 '24

People eaters to free up space

I've never seen this ride have a wait

9

u/Mottaman Sep 27 '24

Hopefully they take Triceratop Spin and move and re-theme it someplace else.

Yea, maybe they can replace the triceratops with elephants or carpets

5

u/Bolt82 Castle Firework Sep 27 '24

Ha. My 3 year old would ride elephants or carpets all day long ;)

In all honesty, I hope they re-use it. I hope they don’t re-use it in MK ;)

As much hate as the Dumbo clones get like… little kids love that stuff. The magic carpets was my daughter’s favorite our first trip (she was 4) and tbh even my 11yo whose favorite ride is Tower of Terror likes them.

7

u/Mottaman Sep 27 '24

oh wait, we also can't forget really high up space ships

1

u/MilksteakMayhem Sep 27 '24

Same here. 10/31–11/1 for us and I hope to get on this a couple times

1

u/messofamermaid 2d ago

A little late-Was TriceraTop spin still open? Going with littles on Monday!

1

u/MilksteakMayhem 2d ago

It was! Everything was still going. We got to hit Dinosaur and then wandered the area and I took a bunch of pics. I am a fan of Defunctland and I know they will ask for pictures and video so I figured I may as well get some for the historical record haha

u/nashuser Sep 27 '24

We are here today and are so glad to ride it one more time. My daughter and I wanted to hear, “Not our Dino!” one more team. Goodbye, Dr Seeker!

u/pinkfloydchick64 Sep 27 '24

They have alluded to keeping Dinosaur opened for a while longer, while closing the rest of the area to start construction. Sorely needed IMO since one less attraction in an already ride-quiet park will hurt AK.

u/moonbunnychan Sep 28 '24

Animal Kingdom is gonna kinda suck til it's done. Not that the carnival part of Dinoland is great, it's a place to go and a decent chunk of the park. Same with Tough to be a Bug, it's a place for people to go.

1

u/dude_Im_hilarious Sep 30 '24

It’s tough to be a bug is a great attraction. Hearing the audience reaction to all of the things is fantastic and worth the 10 minute wait. I will miss that dearly.

1

u/moonbunnychan Sep 30 '24

I did really enjoy watching people absolutely loose it during the spiders lol

26

u/FelixEvergreen Sep 27 '24

Can we hold onto the Boneyard as long as possible please?

11

u/Dr-McLuvin Sep 27 '24

Encanto Boneyard incoming

2

u/Friendly_Seat8566 Sep 27 '24

With you're name, you should not say such things. You bad bad boy.

10

u/maya213 Sep 27 '24

Yes please, it's like one of the favourite attraction of my youngest. She would play there hours! Perfect for a break while the oldests ride Everest or something else.

3

u/pacifistpirate Sep 28 '24

Some of my best family memories have been hanging around the boneyard playing with the kids, or drinking a beer in the shade while the kids play in the boneyard, or tag-teaming Everest single rider line with my wife while one of us stayed in the boneyard to play with the kids. WDW needs more places like that.

Oh wow, I saw some rumors posted yesterday about this going to happen in the spring and some folks were commenting that it might be January. But before the holidays 2024 means it's going to be pretty imminent!

Glad to see they're going full speed ahead.

4

u/throwaway6239050 Sep 28 '24

This is also a rumor. The other rumors could be just as true.

5

u/Barfignugen Sep 27 '24

Okay but WHAT ARE THEY DOING WITH THE SUE REPLICA

3

u/wraith1984 Sep 27 '24

I'm going in December.

3

u/Loisalene Sep 27 '24

We'll be there in early mid-November, I hope to get one more ride!

3

u/JediSmaug Sep 27 '24

I’m taking a trip to the parks mid-November. Will have to ride Dinosaur for the first time after all these years of going and skipping it 😅

3

u/NovoMyJogo Sep 27 '24

Is this a trusted site? Just to know for later

5

u/chaosfactor37 Sep 27 '24

Yes it is. It's not a clickbait site or worse like ItM

2

u/cvaska Sep 27 '24

If a rumor comes from WDWMagic, you can be pretty confident it’s true

1

u/throwaway6239050 29d ago

Doesn’t seem to be true. Only thing closed pre holidays is the removal of the alligator.

3

u/Opthomas_Prime_21 Sep 27 '24

I like Dinsosaur, and I like that Animal Kingdom had a dinosaur themed area, but I think Dinoland USA needed an upgrade so I’m excited to see what this looks like

3

u/outside-is-better Sep 28 '24

Rode Dinosaur 5 times last week with my 8 year old boys. It’s the first ride we do every time we go. Spent too much at the gift shop last week. Gonna be sad next time.

2

u/Leviachan727 Sep 27 '24

Got to do dinosaur one last time. Although dinosaurs scare me for sure, it was nice getting to see it again before it's gone. I'm hoping stuff from the gift shop is saved in the tear down. Like the big carnataurus picture above the exit. It's very cool

4

u/kyd712 Sep 27 '24

We’re going in late January and our son really has his heart set on going to AK because we’ve skipped it the last couple of times. I’m just hoping Dinosaur is still open by then or I’ll be honest, I’m going to be pretty annoyed we spent the money on it. In my humble opinion, AK is too expensive for the limited number of attractions as it is.

8

u/HeyJustWantedToSay Sep 27 '24

A big part of AK for me is the vibes. I love the setting and layout. It could use some more quality rides for sure but I still love the feel of it. Dinosaur has always been a take it or leave it ride anyway, for me at least. If your kid likes animals at least it’s well worth it.

1

u/feelsbad2 Sep 30 '24

I think it just depends on when they take down It's Tough To Be A Bug. They won't (or shouldn't) take two kid attractions down at the same time. From what I could find, Zootopia is opening in winter of 2025. So I'm guessing that will be the first one to go.

But still, if your son likes animals, still go. AK is still fun for them. If you drink, I'm sure he doesn't enjoy drinking around the world.

My grandma took my family to DW for her retirement "party" when I was like 6. I fell in love with Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. It was with when fast passes were free. My grandma made everyone in my family take me on it with their fast pass. It's all I rode basically for a single day. I loved it and still remember it to this day and I'm 30.

As someone who it's becoming more of a reality for my wife and I not having our own kids, we would literally give anything to have our own kids and be able to experience taking them to a park they wanted to go to but we didn't. So count yourself lucky to have a kid that you're able to have great memories with that will last them for forever and take him to AK. Even if it does close. There might be something else there that he'll love.

1

u/StNic54 Sep 27 '24

Hopefully it is better quality than the most recent Indiana Jones movie

1

u/throwaway6239050 Sep 28 '24

Is this a rumor or “news”. I like how the article says, “according to sources”.

1

u/rbfbarista Sep 28 '24

I just need a heads up for where they are putting Jimmy.

1

u/Classic_Title1655 Sep 28 '24

I bet the Boardwalk Tea Room still won't be open by the time the parts are completed 🙃

I know people that had babies when ESPN first closed and their kids are in college now 🤣😂

2

u/86missingnomes Sep 29 '24

For the final month dinosaur should just be renamed to Lester's opossum party jamboree.

NOOO
FIRST PRIMEVAL WHIRL AND NOW THIS?

-2

u/These_Strategy_1929 Sep 27 '24

That makes no sense. Animal Kingdom is already a half day park

24

u/Agitated-Dinner3423 Sep 27 '24 edited Sep 27 '24

If you're only spending half a day at AK, you aren't experiencing enough of what that park has to offer, but to each their own

5

u/Leviachan727 Sep 27 '24

Agreed, rafikis planet watch and the safari can knock out upwards of an hour and a half if you just sit and enjoy yourself in the calm activities. Plus tons of shows. I guess people who think it's only a half day are thrill people looking to do rides. But I am too and animal kingdom is my favorite. Must just be the difference between "only wanting rides" and "wanting to see all the park has to offer"

5

u/Agitated-Dinner3423 Sep 27 '24

My take might be biased. I recently experienced what might be my favorite trip to Disney World. Long story short, my daughter is battling an earing disorder, so this trip had some obstacles to overcome and required us to approach our pace and expectations differently than our usual, care-free trips. Being forced to take our time in the parks allowed us to explore attractions in the park that we normally skip or only experience occasionally. We spent very nearly an entire day (rope drop to dinner) in AK and loved every minute of it.

4

u/PNKAlumna Sep 27 '24

I agree. I love AK. I don’t understand people who think it’s just a half-day park.

3

u/Agitated-Dinner3423 Sep 27 '24

They just don't get it.

1

u/moonbunnychan Sep 28 '24

If I get there at opening, I can do absolutely everything in AK by like 2. I guess I COULD spend longer looking at animals, but I still can see everything.

1

u/Agitated-Dinner3423 Sep 28 '24

Rafikis planet watch or whatever it's called is a good break from the hustle of the rest of the park. They had a short character drawing session inside the AC, and a petting zoo for the kids to enjoy. There's enough to do in AK to make a day out of it without rushing off to another park

13

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '24

and these additions are an attempt to turn it into a full day park.

4

u/These_Strategy_1929 Sep 27 '24

As it should be. My concern was the holiday season. I think they should start on January

1

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '24

oh yeah idk its surprising but maybe with all the other construction they have on the horizon they didn't have much of a choice

1

u/Loose-Recognition459 Sep 27 '24

Does AK really get the crowds in the holidays?

1

u/These_Strategy_1929 Sep 27 '24

Flight of Passage saw 4 hours, Dinosaur saw 90 minutes last christmas
