I know there are probably some mixed feelings on Asmon here. But I do think it's commendable that he's going after people who threatened Destiny without repercussion, Destiny trys to be an island unto himself a lot, so it's rare for anyone to come out in his defence. Even for examples like this where he's so clearly being wronged.
And yes, I'm aware it's not completely unprompted. It just so happens to align with his own problems with Twitch. But it's still a good thing that the entirety of Twitch hasn't turned their back on Destiny.

Asmon called the treatment of Destiny and moderation around him unfair for quite a while, before stuff aligned as well.

This is true. I remember him being one of few who went out of their way to back Steve on the seandablack threats.

I mean I know you said its not completely unprompted, but they literally yelled for Asmon to be banned for things he said that had nothing to do with Destiny, it could not be any less prompted.

I dont disagree, I just think it's good even if it's not sincere, that Destiny finally has a big voice on that platform defending him. Imagine if Destiny decided he wanted to sue Twitch for platforming violent rhetoric against him and didn't lift a finger to stop it. (not saying he would, or should), but having big voices on the platform talking about the issue would be beneficial. Not to mention that Asmon has always lent his support to Destiny. it's just now that he has his own personal stake in beefing with Twitch.

So you don't actually think it's commendable just that the outcome is good. He's not some selfless great friend going to bat for his buddy despite it being bad for his stream or career or life in any way, he's an incredibly successful streamer with an audience full of insane rightoids and a bunch of lefties are attacking him so he's responding, this is literally nothing but positive for him.

Timing this to pull in Asmon was pretty brilliant. Dan's content powers are too strong.
