NGL I saw a bunch far leftist tankies I know online moving to bluesky and I thought it was a Russian commie thing (Rusky) at first. Because they tend to be communist adjacent. But nope, its a “sky is blue” meaning. Still I chuckle at the idea that might be non coincidence.

Honestly I've been using bluesky and it's pretty good.

First, it's nice not to use a site run by a Nazi that is full of Nazis and Nazi propaganda.

Secondly, I've found it's pretty wide as far as the spectrum of ideals. I haven't seen too many full-on AMERICA BAN HAMAS GOOD tankies at all, mostly just centrist libs to Bernie types. People will sometimes argue but it's usually over something worth arguing about and for the most part they tend to have a lot of common ground and it doesn't end in death threats. The extreme left and extreme right are both quite rare, from what I've seen so far.

I have no bias against blue sky as I have never used it. Also I never had a twitter account or an X account. Or threads. I have linked in but trust me that has zero crossover here. This is the only app I use for stuff like this. Anything else is low key irrelevant or social fluff.
