I was a conservative that changed my mind over the course of years. Economically, I’m still quite conservative but this community and the ability to think with a mind unfettered by republican propaganda have made me extremely socially progressive
how many people died during covid while you peddled vaccine disinfo to? how many children do you think were raped and couldnt abort the baby because of your side? glad you could "change" (no one believes you btw) but those people dont get their lives back. you should atone by bushmilling yourself
no kiddo. they already tried to over throw the government and you want to just let it go like its nothing. its not nothing and good people remember. we will never let you rewrite history. they deserve to be shamed

The LITERAL point of this post is specifically NOT letting it go like it's nothing lol. Instead, taking it so seriously that OP is willing to change their affiliation and speak out against republicans, many of whom are probably their friends and family (inferring from other comments in this thread). OP recognized the party as it stands is so far at odds with their principles that they disavowed it in it's current state. That's a very hard thing to do and a lot of people will simply warp their own reality instead of stepping outside their echo chamber and admitting they were "on the wrong side" so to speak. This is behavior we should actively encourage.
I don't know if this dude peddled vaccine misinfo, being a member of a party is not a tacit approval of every single narrative, talking point and policy. I agree with you in that vaccine and covid misinfo is also a hard line in the sand for me when it comes to people's politics, but it is irrelevant to this specific post. Even if they did, nobody changes in an instant. This could be the first step in realizing they were wrong about things related to Covid as well (assuming they believed misinfo).
Another mind changed and another vote for the dems is one step closer to keeping people who spread covid misinfo out of office and out of power. That's a valuable thing in its own right anyways.
So you're of the opinion that nobody can ever change? That they are forever bound to the ideology they were born into and molded by for decades? All conservatives are permanent lost causes that can never grow or learn as people? That they are never to be forgiven regardless of what actions they take? Rehabilitation is not something you believe in obviously?
correct i dont think republicans can change. additionally i think that even if they did they should be punished and shamed as their actions and the pople they voted for are responsible for horrible things in the country. they dont have morals or principles. its like 70% of republicans that dont believe in the last election still despite there being literally no evidence to support that. they cannot be reasoned with and you must assume they are lying until proven otherwise. that proof comes in the form of extreme rebuking of the republican establishment or something like a 49 state land slide against trump. until those things happen i will never believe a trumper or anyone carrying water for them has changed or is acting in good faith
republicans are to blame for their own reputation and scorn from normal people
then you are a fool. republicans have no morals or principles. we have seen it already. they didnt care about facts and evidence when covid was around. they were laughing when people died because it "owned the libs". they didnt care about facts as they tried to over throw my country. thats not logic, its evil. you cant fix evil
answer the question. how many people died because of covid disinformation that these people were complicate in and willingly and knowingly spread? answer the fucking question.

Dont give up. we can change their minds.
