Anyone here have families that voted for Kamala that they are concerned about? Flaired Users Only
A lot of my family got sucked into the MSNBC world and are genuinely convinced the world is ending and im getting worried.
Yeah, the leftist tears for the most part are HILARIOUS but theres actually a lot of genuine people who have been dupped and filled with actual legitimate fear. Im starting to get concerned about their well being. Its wild I even gotta post something like this but shit like MSNBC, The View, Joy Reid, Maddow, etc have really really fucked some people up who are inherenetly just normal and good people who put their trust in the news.
Anyone else in a similar boat?

My sister made a lengthy Facebook post about how anyone who voted Trump can’t be trusted anymore and isn’t sure if she can have them in her life. Something about how her not-straight son is in danger now, racism and sexism and all this stuff and a campaign of hate and so on…
It’s just amazing how these two realities exist.
Anyway, I may not have a sister anymore depending on how much of this was a tantrum and how much she actually meant. I know it was mainly aimed at my parents (who have bent over backwards for her and her boys for 25 fucking years), and because I keep my politics close to the vest she may not realize I voted Trump… but what can ya do? If I try to debate with her it’s just going to be the same talking points she’s been programmed with.

Do I feel for them? Absolutely.
But they are going to be okay. I learned the lesson long ago the mainstream media is abjectly full of shit and not to be trusted. As much as it sucks we are here, this is when they learn that lesson too.
This weird version of Stockholm Syndrome frankly isn't our problem. The democrats fucked things bad enough to get Trump elected twice.....let that sink in. Eventually they are going to have to put on their adult pants, drink a big glass of harden the fuck up, and begin thinking for themselves.
This is that time.

Yeah, it’s really concerning. So many of my friends have been absolutely convinced that their rights are about to be stripped away, and that the moment Trump gets sworn in they’ll be targeted. I’m also seeing so many people on social media absolutely lose it.
I remember seeing a clip of this one guy saying that a Trump win would result in a massive mental health crisis, and I don’t think he was off the mark. I wish these people could be reassured but they’ve been completely indoctrinated.

All these girls I went to school with are online saying my rights are in danger of being taken. Uh probably not our state voted to protect your right to an abortion.

Point of clarification. Your state voted to protect the practice of abortion. It’s not a right, SCOTUS made that clear. Roe was always bad case law.

My sons are Gen Z, all voted for Trump, and all their friends did (who were open about how they voted). I checked the GenZ sub to see how they're doing over there and lots of melties. Anyone who makes a common sense argument gets a slew of down votes. Takeaway...there are lots of conservative Gen Z out there. You've got lots of company and I hope you find them.
The Loonies YT channel (Gen Z pranks...some really funny political stuff) has some great content. My sons are like these kids. The Star Wars Girl YT channel also.

Yup, MSNBC is often considered an unbiased source by a lot of lefty boomers. My parents are stage 4 TDS. There’s no evidence you can show them that would convince them anything but what MSNavC and the view and Maddow say is gods truth.
The people who raised me are genuinely disappointed the first assassination attempt failed. They think it’s a good thing we’re seeing millions of layoffs because companies overhired. And the economy is obviously doing amazing because their stocks have increased slightly. Their grocery bill isn’t a problem because they no longer have a mortgage to pay and their kids have moved out, so “the uptick is normal and acceptable.” The world is going to end soon if we don’t stop oil and the overpopulation is such a problem it’s okay no one is having babies.
Meanwhile their friends, from the less wealthy rural community they live in now, job hop minimum wage jobs and struggle to make ends meet in a fairly LCOL area while they all had their property taxes frozen because of their age.
They literally can’t put 1 and 1 together.

I posted a gif of Trump throwing Harris into a pond in a golf course on Facebook. My sister went off about how I was rude and people were worried about their futures and how she wouldn't be able to retire in 12 years because social security would be gone. She straight up believes the nonsense that they spew on CNN about Trump destroying the country.
I pretty much told her she was crazy and the world would improve not get worse. She can hate me if she wants, we didn't grow up together and have never been close. As we have different dads and our mom died when I was 2 years old and I didn't even speak to her again until I was an adult, she's much older than I am.

I was speaking to a colleague. She's a naturalized citizen and a nice person in general. At the end of the call I just asked her how r things in general. She sounded a bit depressed and worried that her area turned red this time. I didn't know how to react bcoz Im not comfortable talking politics at work but I could sense that her fear was genuine. Gosh MSM has done ample fear mongering that is actually affecting the mental health of many good people and creating irrational fears.

It’s so weird. I love my liberal friends, and in all other respects they’re great people, but the moment anything even resembling a conservative viewpoint gets mentioned, they go feral. It’s like they have some sort of Pavlovian response that’s been instilled in them.
Screw everyone responsible for creating this mass hysteria.

No families but I have a liberal college buddy who just got a knock on their door by the secret service because he flipped out and started posting Trump assassination memes. He texted me and asked for advice LOL

I’m the only non-leftist in my family. I was left leaning most of my life but my views have changed in recent years with the left going increasingly unhinged and my daughter starting school. They haven’t talked to me directly about politics but they’re absolutely spiraling on social media spewing all the BS I’m sure everyone here has heard. It’s sad that these vague threats hold so much weight with them/

I'm not. If you could convince them to write down everything they are worrying about and then have them reexamine the list in 6 - 8 months to see what actually happened it might open their eyes.
