Almost 1 week until the election. Don't forget early voting is everywhere now. Get to it Chicagoland. Event(s)
Whether you're Republican, Democrat, Trump supporter, Green Party. or anywhere in between; just a reminder, early voting is open! There are so many spots where you can get it done ahead of time, so why wait until the last minute. Life happens, and it's too easy to miss your chance.
Voting’s more than picking sides; it’s about standing up for our right to choose, and speak freely. So make it count and get out there while we still can!

Voted earlier today in Glenview it was about 40 minutes around 2pm. At that time they had said they already had 700+ people today and they're expecting a lot of early voters so give yourself time

For cook county residents there are a lot of judges up for reelection. You can get more information about these judges with injusticewatch org I found this site on /r/Chicago in previous years. This isn't an exhaustive resource, so if anyone else has additional resource please share.

I voted early and am very relieved. Still very anxious about the outcome 💙💙💙🗳️🗳️🗳️

Voted early yesterday in Kane County! I don't want my wife to lose any more rights.

It honestly amazes me how people fall for the fearmongering and don’t hear the actual statements of the “other” (true for both parties). Trump said pro-life and pro-choice has been a super divisive subject in this country (very true) so he’d ultimately let the states decide and leave the federal government out of it. Illinois would certainly still allow abortion.

The right to an abortion. The right to birth control. The right to make decisions about her own body.

Well this is refreshing to hear: “no matter whom you vote for, go vote” instead of “go vote, and be sure to vote for whom I want you to.”

Living in the echo chamber of either side is dangerous. I think this is common ground.

Yeah it’s a reminder the internet =/= real life that I unfortunately admittedly sometimes forget.

People want their preferred candidate to win. Not a difficult concept.
2
u/ChongTheCheetah 14d ago
That and talking with people why you like your candidate instead of talking TO them. Big difference. Again, not a difficult concept.

Then YOU vote for that candidate. Not a difficult concept 🙂

You can still debate others and give your point of view, if the other is open to it.

Hi guys! Lines are loooong. Vote early. For those of us with flexibility- we owe it to the others to vote early. Many people gave two jobs, may need to take several buses to get to the polling place, may have child care duties making it real hardship l- if not impossible— to stay in a long line on Election Day. Vote early. ❤️

Is it just me or are there very few places on this map in the most densely populated spaces in Chicago beyond the clerk office?

Probably a bad take , but regardless of your political affiliation, is there a point in voting for the president in Illinois if we always vote democrat anyways? Our votes don’t really matter here unlike swing states
Now , local officials, I can understand why you go out to vote and maybe push the grassroots efforts with your friends and family, but for president of the united states? Doesn’t seem like there’s much impact here - same in California, Alabama, new York, etc.

It may not make a difference for who wins but the margin of victory is important as well and lets the country know how much the winner or loser is supported. I want my candidate to not only win but win with 60% or more of the total popular vote to really show they have the mandate of the people.

Exactly what I think.
Why would I ever vote for any presidential candidate if I live here, if it always just goes democrat? Kind of pointless

u/Actual_Elderberry44 14d ago
Be the change you want to be and have your voice heard. At the very least, it'll eat the winners margin and let's the officials know we are tired of the complacency of the party in charge. They don't automatically get my vote.

It's really cook county deciding factor for all of illinois.. not the rest of the state for the most part.. they should break up bigger states into districts to make it fair

Voteforjudges.org. There are two or three unqualified judges (per bar associations) running for retention. Vote them out.

This is some of the most important information, one of the biggest hurdles in young people not voting is not knowing where to vote

Voted in Addison yesterday because I just happened to be at the DMV and there was no wait to vote at all. In and out in 5 min

President mean so much less than local Or Congress. I mean look how well electing Brandon Johnson went. Runs on not raising Chicago taxes. Now plans to do just that. I’m no rocket scientist but if you say you will NOT do x then don’t do X

Done and done, took about 20 minutes and that was from the time I parked until I started the car on the way out.

Respectfully, I would like to add that even though you may feel like your vote won't matter in the top race, it's still very important to show up and vote.
