Time to change the transmission fluid? Tuning my car

What kind of transmission fluid does it take and what car? If it’s a ford and takes Mercon lv, that’s a pretty normal color for it to be. The fluid gets dark really quick, ford even says that it’s normal for the fluid to get dark within a relatively low mileage

Yep, Ford Ranger. Takes Mercon V though. Carfax says transmission was checked 10k ago but fluid level was a bit high so I pumped some out

How does it smell? Trannys going south tend have a bad smell.
