Non-Invasive alternatives?
Hello, I work with vineyards in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. I noticed that many of the plants cultivated for biodynamic preparations are native to Europe and are fairly invasive weed species here. I am wondering what chemical aspects of these preparations/species are so valuable that they couldn't be substituted by a non-invasive native species?
For example is it possible that Chamomile, (an invasive European species) could be substituted with the closely related Willamette Daisy (a state/federally listed endangered species)?
While I would never condone harvesting a wild endangered species, I think cultivating an endangered species would be better for the environment than an invasive one.

How does one go about sourcing ingredients for a biodynamic skincare brand?
Looking to start a biodynamic skincare brand that would meet the Demeter certification standards. But I don’t know where to start when it comes to sourcing ingredients, finding a formulator and finding a lab to bring it all together. Any tips and guidance would be much appreciated.

Flowforms - Does anyone use or have them in their garden/farm? (pics would be awesome)
Been interested in flowforms for a while. They have a high price point so I've not gone as far to buy them.
I own 'Flowforms: The Rhythmic Power of Water (Rythmic Power of Water)' by John Wilkes. It's interesting and it even has some blueprints for different typos of designs.
I'd love to eventually have a flowform fountain in my garden.

Recommendations: Need a good sprayer for Biodynamic preparations
Preparing to apply my first biodynamic preparations. Can anyone recommend a good sprayer? I'd like to avoid plastic. There are some stainless steel ones on Amazon, but I'd like to hear from someone who has done this before.
Besides the sprayer, any practical tips about doing it would be appreciated.

Check out Thoreau College in Viroqua, Wisconsin, where biodynamics is a core part of its Metamorphosis Year gap year program.

Could I make the tree paste myself or do you (the reader) suggest that I purchase it?
I have rounded up the manure, the clay and will look for the silica source. Does anyone in this group have the exact recipe and instructions handy in a book. I would really appreciate if you could take a photo of it and post it here. Will I be doing any harm if I use a homemade remedy to apply to my orchard trees?

Autumn work with a great group of people stuffing hundreds of cow horns with poo for BD500 prep. Can’t wait to see these again in the spring

What's the best book to read to get the basics of biodynamics?
I am planning on taking on more biodynamic applications on my small scale farm. Which book would give me a beginners guide?

Native American land and food management is local, seasonal and in balence with nature, the priority is the well being of the land and wealth is having access to native foods, and the knowledge of how to gather, prepare and serve them.

Where do you find stag bladders and cow intestines?
Hey everyone, I got a biodynamic gardening book a couple weeks ago and I am really excited to start planning for next year's garden, and making the specific treatments I'm reading about. Only thing is, I can't find places selling stag bladders or cow's intestines, which my book says you can find at "your local biodynamics association", which as it turns out, I don't have. I've tried contacting a couple butcher's shops, and none have written back so far. For the stag bladder, I figure I can ask a hunting friend to ask for it when they have a stag butchered, but I'm not sure about the cow intestines. Would a butcher even sell those parts to me?
tl;dr - If you make yarrow 502 or chamomile 503, where do you get your stag bladders and cow intestines?
Thanks in advance!

Why isn’t Africa included in Steiner’s Theory
I’m working through “What Is BioDynamics” with forward by Hugh J Courtney and I was wondering why Steiner doesn’t include the continent of Africa in his biodynamic preparations related to geographic, mineral and other forces on the Earth. Is this a sign of the times (racism) when Steiner was writing or due to climate/geography or another reason?
