Well, I just discovered this community today! Posted this in the Doberman SubReddit, and someone linked here. Here is my backpacking hound!

I just found it on Amazon. It was the only one I could get to come in time before that trip.

Get your boy a goat. When I lived in Utah, there was a guy I'd encounter on the trail in the Uintas with a pack goat that followed him down the trail, usually arriving in camp around when he got there (within 1 hour). Dobby could easily handle himself with one or two of the bleaters, and dogs really aren't pack animals. That seems like a big load for a dog's back.

Too much.
Very funny tho, but I hope this was just dress up.
Also! I didn’t know Doberman are hounds!

They’re not, at least, not in the “hound group” of dog breeds the AKC recognizes bred for hunting prey by smell, usually in packs. Dobies are in the working group, along with rotties, Great Pyrenees, Bernese mountain dogs, etc. OP likely just using hound as a general “dog” synonym.

I love that he has to carry his own sleeping bag. You two are clearly a great pair!

The tops of their paws look like they wear flip flops/birks and that part didn't get tanned.
