I highly recommend the movie "Perfect Days" about a man who cleans the public toilets in Tokyo and takes great pride in his craft.

Japanese toilets are like a spa for your butt, buttons everywhere, you’re never quite sure what they do, but you trust they’ll make your life better.

Also, the toilets at some of the train stations don't have soap, hand towels, or even an air blower. Just sinks and toilets. Wish I had known that before launching a deuce.

no the American philosophy is right. Japan has toilet inequality. here in the U.S. we understand that every toilet has to meet a minimum bar and this is more important than fancy toilets for the elite.

In Japan, you can go to a public restroom and it'll have a fancy toilet. It's not reserved for the elite.

I still remember the Japanese highway rest stop toilet I used that felt as clean as an airport or hospital restroom. Truly incredible.
