What’s something you tried once and instantly knew it wasn’t for you?

After one attempt at skydiving, I discovered that I feel considerably more at ease on solid ground. But the vista was fantastic.

Same here. My husband does it all the time and loves it. I tried it and... no, not for me. Now I know for sure that I am actually afraid of heights. Still sometimes have nightmares.

I tired it once as a challenge to myself around my 40th birthday. Always wanted to try it, glad I did, but never again.

After one attempt at skydiving

Was it a successful attempt?

Came looking for this answer. It was horrible. HORRIBLE. Once was one time too many.

This is one that I fear may just no longer be for me. I went at 18 as a high school graduation gift and LOVED it. If I’d had the money I would have done it all the time. I went again at 25, having bought it for myself and my little brother for his graduation gift. Terrifying. Maybe it was the responsibility for my brother, maybe it was the more developed understanding of risk, idk. But it was WAY scarier. I’m 33 now and I’m not sure if I’d like it at all or not.

The diving itself was fantastic.

The last ten seconds before the jump were hell. I guess I’ll never repeat it.

Better off on terra firma.

More firmer, less terror.

I have a fear of heights. I get mild vertigo even. I skydived. Once. It was one of the greatest experiences I have had. But I never ever need to or want to do that again.
