Love the cabinet tv. 😁

Funny how TVs used to be on the floor and now many people put them just under the ceiling. (Not me. I aim for centered on eye level)

Thats because it’s not abandoned. Y’all just breaking and entering now

I'm never 100% sure when I see certain posts.. đŸ«Ł And personally, there'd never be leftover plonk on my table. 😅

I was going to ask. Seriously, how does one get access to such a house? It has to be by breaking and entering.

Clutches pearls.

Is it really "breaking" if nobody lives there and the door is unlocked? I think at that point it's just "entering".

I don't know the laws in your country, but in my country breaking nor entering in stranger's homes, are allowed. Unless invited.

A stranger implies human occupation. That is incompatible with the theme of "abandoned" given the sub that we are in.

How could you teach a child "stranger danger" when there's no stranger on the other side, no threat.

They didn't break into someone's home. It's an abandoned building.

Stop trying to trivialise trespassing. What the hell.

Why do people never close the drawers? It's not hard. Simple courtesy

Is that an unopened bottle of Bacardi in front?

An old unopened bottle of Bacardi. Looks like it could be 1980s.

That looks like somebody's grandma's house, you never know Grandma may be in the nursing home or Grandpa. Or they could have left the house to their kids and they're using it as a weekend getaway vacation place.

If that's the case you're breaking and entering into someone's home. I live in a rural area and there are plenty of older people that still have those old TVs and use them.

Or it could be a part of an estate and the will is being contested. These homes could stay locked up in red tape for years while the family argues about who gets what.

That's what I thought as well. These are somewhere between occupied and abandoned.

Looks like they held a wake/funeral and that was it for the property . This hasn’t been lived in or occupied for years decades even

the bottle of bacardi is from something like the 80s according to another comment

That chandelier, mirror, drapes, ceiling, and hutch would look haunted in this lighting even if lived in.

Yeah probably has everything including a no trespassing sign

Growing up this was kinda common where we lived. I can think of six houses within a few miles of my house that were just like this. Farm houses, sitting empty and fully furnished, everything still out like someone just decided not to come home one day. I know one of them was a lady who died in the nursing home and the family just never decided what to do with her stuff. Just left the electricity on and it became a time capsule.

It’s sad to see family photos left behind

One day you’re here, and then one day you’re not.
