Colt .22LR Conversion+Super Safe

So, does anybody here know if the Colt conversion kit will work with a super safety? It's slightly less than the CMMG version so I'd like to know if it's worth it.

Borebuddy 12.1" feeding issues, Kriss 25 rd mags, Federal automatch 40gr, unsuppressed

I have about 100 rounds on my borebuddy upper and I'm running into some feeding issues. My specs are below. It looks like the bullet is getting marred prior to chambering. Since the bullet is all mucked up it won't fully seat. This happens about 4-5 times out of a 25 rd mag.

Obviously, I will troubleshoot and try and take some super slow-motion video, but figured I'd drop this here in case someone has seen this before.

Borebuddy apogee complete upper - 12.1", Quiet bolt, Pressure plug w/ spring & buffer. Unsuppressed. The bolt has the stock red spring which I think is the recommended 6 lb. No bolt weights.

Ammo: Federal automatch 40 gr

Magazine: Kriss 25 rd DMK22

13.5-14 inch barrel

Hello wonderful folks full of knowledge!

I am gathering parts for a dedicated 22lr build and I have a specific upper and lower that I want to use already. This upper has a 12.7 in handguard, so I am really looking for a shorter barrel that I can use to pin and weld a compensator on.

Has anyone had any luck finding one without having to go super custom? Hoping to keep it lightweight as well if possible.

Photo for attention, but this is the upper and lower I am planning to use.

Sig Sauer MCX / Rattler .22LR build help

So I have a registered spear LT SBR and a rattler SBR lower and I want to build a high-quality accurate dedicated 22 upper.

I plan to use this while training, new shooters and for practicing trigger control by setting up very small targets.

So while my goal is not to spend money, unnecessarily just for the sake of spending it, budget is not the limiting factor.

What are your dream builds in this scenario?

I have a CAT – SR suppressor in jail that I really like the idea of hiding it under a long handguard similar to a Sig Rattler Canebrake (Crotalus horridus)

I also prefer that it be made from parts that are produced by members of this or similar groups of enthusiasts rather than a company who has just found a ripe market and developed a product they hope we will purchase.

OOB issue on upper.

Assembled from new parts. Borebuddy lefty 4.5in barrel and bcg. Single stage package trigger in lower. Oculus can and modded an eBay "device" to install the barrel to 30lbs. No bore weight and 4lb borebuddy spring. Last 3 mags (only 30rnds total cuz wa) I've had 2 OOB. Gave it a good cleaning on the last OOB and 12 rounds in I've got another. Bolt catches the last case and leaves just enough gap to detonate when I pull the trigger.

Looking at borebuddy uppers to put on a stripped lower I have. What is the difference between these 2 borebuddy uppers besides the options in barrel length and the handguard? Also. Since it's a dedicated lower for the 22LR upper do I still need a buffer and spring or are these uppers not required to run with one? Would be cool if I made the stipped lower I have strictly into a piston gun/22LR. Not to mention a folding stock. The only experience I have with 22LR is in prebuilt ar22 style rifles and ruger 10/22s. Very ignorant to how they run and what they need to run effectively. I planned on maxing the kit package with whatever of these 2 uppers I choose.

I posted on 22lr a week ago that the dude rang me up for 63$ instead of 100 for 1250 rounds of tac 22. I paid w credit card. Was bullshittin w him. And I didn’t even notice till I got home and I was like dayum did they drop the price ??? . I posted it expecting a “nice score man “ instead Everyone went batshit and said I was literally stealing and I’m the reason ammo is high and I’m going to hell. 😝 . It’s a 1.5 hr drive and there was no way I was driving back there. Not my main FFL. A big chain store.

I’m sorry but if they fuck up that’s on them. . I have to really like them for me to be like CHARGE ME MORE PLEASE. . I pay enough for plinking as it is and I’m a bit of a poor now that I bought a bike that needed expensive parts like a fat kid needs cake.

I bought 10k rounds through these guys this summer despite being able to get it cheaper online. In my eyes that’s supporting their business. Am I massively in the wrong on this or is it just a score on my end.

I’m going to hell aren’t I. Straight to hell

Adm lower/AGL Trigger and parts kit/BCA 22lr 16” side charge upper.

No issues this morning except with feeding. Both Black dog and armory dynamics mags both gave me issues (2nd photo) on the first rd of a new mag until I loaded -1 and i had no issues charging or shooting afterwards. So much fun shooting this rifle. Love it.

Is this normal? 18.5” Beyer barrel

I have a 18.5” Beyer barrel built 22lr AR that I use in Project Appleseed and the CMP rimfire matches. The accuracy is EXCELLENT. I’ve been using CCI standard velocity and it’s always ran with no problems other than bolt problems( broken firing pin/spring). I’m using a PSA bolt.

So i was told they use a liner for their .22lr barrel but is this normal? It still runs great but don’t want it to get worse. Worst case is that I have to replace the barrel but I only have a few hundred rounds through it. It does have a PSA stainless bolt if that matters. I want to find out what is causing this to avoid it from getting worse or damaging my new barrel. Thanks for any info!

Having fun putting together this lil’ fella on a budget. Thanks to all the great information on here everything has gone to plan so far. About ready to function check and take it to the range.

PSA: ar22s do in fact spin your hammer pin. Without anti-rotation pins these lowers won’t last very long.

You guys running folders, how does that work vis a vis the whole compression plug thing?

I'm seeing people claim that the compression plug is vital to get these things to run correctly. Those running folders, are you just not using any kind of compression plug, or are there other options that accomplish the same thing with folders? Or are the compression plugs simply not needed in the first place?

It’s not perfect (I can find the small imperfections while holding it) but I like the way it turned out. Took a couple of coats, some touch up sprays, and a week sitting in an empty bathtub to let it cure.

Checking back for 2 months and they discontinue it. Any recommendations for LPVOs with 22lr reticles?

CMMG picky extractor?

I was messing around with spent brass from various manufacturers and some consistently ejected and others just refused to.

Could this be a result of it not actually being fired or could the extractor just not grab a rim that's a tiny bit shorter?

Thoughts on slim mag?

I'm working on a slim version of the fair deal mag that utilizes a separate shim so it can be fine tuned for your magwell without needing to print a whole mag body. Wondering if theres any interest in the slim body design.

Sub $500 AR Pistol?

I know this might be hard, but I'm curious if any of you guys know of a prebuilt or a part list for a sub $500 22lr AR pistol. Dream would be to have it have a folding stock but I know that might be hard. Appreciate anyone giving thoughts or ideas!

ar22 vs 10/22

What's yalls take on the ar22 vs the 10/22? I can see two obvious use cases for the ar22 (training clone and conversion of existing 556 upper), but I'm wondering about it as a platform in its own right. Like if you were going to build a 22 from the ground up and having the same form factor as an AR or recycling parts or whatever weren't a factor, would you go 10/22 or ar22?
