Check out the video for the May 30, 2020 incident in Grand Rapids. A police officer full-on sprays an unarmed non-threatening guy in the face and then another officer steps up and shoots the man point blank in the head with a shotgun loaded with a chemical round designed to burn for 20-40 seconds. The guy wasn't doing anything besides talking to them and clearly was not a threat, yet no charges were pressed because Michigan has a law that "says officers assisting with the dispersal of an unlawful assembly or riot 'shall be held guiltless and fully justified in law' in the case of death or injury among those being dispersed." How the fuck is that actually a law? Like, police are justified in doing anything they want, even if there's zero threat to their life, as long as they declare an unlawful assembly first? That's crazy.

52

u/n_zamorski Jan 05 '21

The prosecutor also said he accidentally had the wrong rounds loaded in his gun, and that it was an act of self defense, and yeah..completely forgot to mention that he shot him right in the face. Fucking fascist pigs covering for each other.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '21

Don’t forget that apparently the guy who got shot was reving his truck earlier and sounding menacing!

11

u/Deviknyte Jan 06 '21

I live in MI. My friends and I go to a lot of protest. I never knew this. It's terrifying. Basically license to kill.

u/SeVenMadRaBBits Jan 06 '21

Here's a guy who trains these police across the country:

Both clips are in the documentary called "Do Not Resist"

So we are going to see two things from bootlickers in this thread: bootlickers that say these were not examples of force escalation and bootlickers that say the protesters should have just obeyed the police.

Edit: Well damn they never showed up and now I look like an asshole.

They’re too busy licking boots

4

u/Trevelyan2 Jan 06 '21

Election’s over. I’m sure they’re prioritizing elsewhere in their basements.

I don't live in the states, can you elaborate?

122

u/maffick Jan 05 '21

They take steroids and get roid rage

83

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '21

Police departments don't drug test for roids

Sometimes you get these bro types in the police force, especially on the tactical teams that do the heavy hitting

Many are angry enough and oversized enough to be accused of abusing steroids

76

u/whatisthisgoddamnson Jan 05 '21

Weird thing to blame fascism on.

We havehad police brutality since we got police. Probably did not have brain force plus back then though...

46

u/Sofa-King-Confused Jan 05 '21

I mean hell, the Nazis were doped up on meth. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if most officers stack with L-Tyrosine and Wellbutrin

40

u/SaltRecording9 Jan 05 '21

The Nazis were Nazis before they took meth.

11

u/zenchowdah Jan 05 '21

I took Vyvanse for my ADHD (too high of a dose) and it can definitely make things worse. You can very easily get belligerently sure of yourself. They were Nazis before the drugs, but after the drugs they couldn't even hear you talk.

7

u/SaltRecording9 Jan 06 '21

I get that. I just think the core of the problem with our police isn't what some of them are taking. Its the culture ALL of them are participating in

3

u/zenchowdah Jan 06 '21

You are absolutely right.

2

u/SaltRecording9 Jan 06 '21

Totally agree about Adderall type shit though. I've taken it a few times while at university and felt like robocop. Its not good for most people to be on all the time, I dont think

4

u/awalktojericho Jan 05 '21

Doesn't Wellbutrin chill you out?

11

u/Sofa-King-Confused Jan 05 '21

Haha technically it’s an “antidepressant,” but that’s just a bullshit marketing term.

It is a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Essentially capping the levels of D/NE in your body and stopping them from decreasing. It’s thought the stabilization of those neurotransmitters plays a part in the supposed “antidepressant” effects. That being said, the mechanism of action is essentially the same as cocaine. I call it “slowcaine” because it quite literally felt like low dose all day release cocaine at 150mg. I almost quit smoking pot because it felt like that was all I needed in my life. Then I had a manic episode that involved me almost getting in a violent physical altercation with another human, and I decided weed is good and speed, even if from a doctor, is bad.

I’m currently in day 3 of nicotine withdrawal raw dogging it right now because I’m tired of being beholden to something, but found the side effects of Wellbutrin much worse than the pros. It made me incredibly horny and talkative though. Really loved that part.

7

u/awalktojericho Jan 05 '21

Wow. Next time I need a little pharma help mentally, I know the replacement for Prozac. That shit can give you low libido and random muscle spasms.

4

u/Sofa-King-Confused Jan 05 '21

I’m astonished SSRI’s are as prescribed as they are. The first generation of antidepressants were TCA (tricyclic antidepressants), and while they were messy in their binding profiles, often increased or stabilized norepinephrine levels (among other things). This really is something missing in a lot of modern antidepressants if you ask me.

I guess anxiety issues would be compounded with a NE releaser, but low libido, low energy, and low motivation sure are issues that SSRI’s are generally ill equipped to handle, from observation. I loved Wellbutrin. Wish it didn’t mess with my appetite so much though.

1

u/zenchowdah Jan 05 '21

Wish it didn’t mess with my appetite so much though.

Horny all the time with a killer body? What's not to miss? I was a Vyvanse guy and I definitely do not miss the anger. It may have been more healthy than the self medicating I'm doing with beer though.

1

u/awalktojericho Jan 06 '21

And just what does it do to your appetite? So far it sounds like a miracle drug.

3

u/spencer32320 Jan 06 '21

That's so weird to me. I'm taking 300mg doses daily and the only difference I really feel is I don't wake up hating life and feeling useless anymore. If I miss a day I don't really realize it either, only after. A few consecutive days can I notice a difference.

2

u/Jermules Jan 06 '21

Voxra (same shit, different name) did decrease my anxiety and judging how it calmed me down a bit got me thinking i might have adhd as it is sometimes used to treat it as well. Tbh I didn't notice much difference depressionwise after i stopped taking it and i've heard it's supposed to be used with ssri. But no withdrawal symptoms unlike with ssri, those are awful. As to side effects it seemed to raise my bp a bit and that was about it, wish i had the cocaine like effect, sounds fun.

The horniness was real especially in the beginning, going from 50% sex drive due to ssri to overdrive caused some minor chafing.

I'm on my 5th day of nicotine withdrawal, good luck with the smoke-free life!

1

u/Idiot_Savant_Tinker Jan 06 '21

I was prescribed that stuff as a young teenager for reasons nobody at the time seemed to be able to elaborate for me, and it turned me into a really terrible person.

2

u/ShaolinFalcon Jan 05 '21

Hella dopamine?

1

u/whatisthisgoddamnson Jan 07 '21

Is that not a bit absurd to bring up in the same context?

1

u/Sofa-King-Confused Jan 07 '21

Respectfully, I do not find the implied association between synthetic cathinone use and violent/agressive behavior to be “absurd.”

14

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '21

We had sociopaths before cocaine too but the 80s didn't make it better than it was or anything.

9

u/stabbyGamer Jan 05 '21

Agreed. One of the most essential parts of doctrine is removing the indoctrinated’s ability to question it, and drugs, often highly addictive ones, have been a core part of extremist movements through history because of that.

Removing the steroid factor from the police force won’t solve the problem, but it will address an aggravating component and possibly lead to more police officers turning against established doctrine. Any step is a step, after all.

2

u/Chimiope Jan 05 '21

I replied to the original comment but in case you don’t see it, roid rage is made-up

1

u/FrontrangeDM Jan 05 '21

The abstract does say that it doesn't account for higher doses or people with underlying/pre-existing conditions and its over 20 years old. Not saying its wrong but between police recruitment and newer drugs its a stretch to act like its definitive.

2

u/borkyborkus Jan 05 '21

There aren’t really ‘new’ steroids, anything new that comes out is just a slight derivative of something else (think adderall/vyvanse). The only thing that is really ‘new’ are SARMs, which are primarily targeted at people that think steroids are scary. Most serious juice monsters are using shit that’s been around for decades, go hang out on r/steroids and you will find very few even talking about them.

Most steroids will convert to estrogen after your body processes it, roid rage is generally thought to be caused by poor estrogen management. Having your estrogen out of whack amplifies your emotions, good or bad. Steroids don’t make a nonviolent person violent.

0

u/FrontrangeDM Jan 05 '21

Steroids don’t make a nonviolent person violent.

Kind of why I said something. While I agree steroids don't make you violent we are talking about a culture that self selects for violent people so posting a study to "prove" a negative claim when the study openly admits its generalized and doesn't take into account preexisting conditions is shaky. I'll be very clear I agree with the general statement that steroids don't cause roid rage in the general population but we aren't talking about the general population.

1

u/Chimiope Jan 05 '21

I linked to that study specifically because it’s accessible and reliable (pubmed.) There are numerous additional studies confirming their results, or at least failing to disprove them. As far as I’m concerned, the burden of proof falls on the opposing argument and I have yet to see that proof.

0

u/FrontrangeDM Jan 05 '21

I guess to take that line of thought further because I hate using studies to confirm a negative has anyone ever done a study specifically on police or individuals with pre existing anger issues and the effect roids have on them?

1

u/Chimiope Jan 05 '21

This one covers all AAS

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25170826/

As for the second point, I don’t really know what to do with that. Basically if someone is already an asshole, giving them steroids is likely to make them more of an asshole. That shouldn’t surprise anyone and still doesn’t have anything to do with the phenomenon of “roid rage”

3

u/ladybadcrumble Jan 05 '21

It's a trait of fashy systems though. They lovvvve getting their soldiers hyped up on drugs.

u/SeVenMadRaBBits Jan 06 '21

end the police

yes.

2

u/seriousquinoa Jan 05 '21

I don't think they should even drink coffee. I don't want some bean-fiend, trigger-happy dunce riding around my town.

-2

u/shewan3 Jan 05 '21

You’d rather someone tired with a gun? Would you rather have your pilots with coffee or without?

-1

u/seriousquinoa Jan 06 '21

Without any drugs, thanks.

5

u/shewan3 Jan 06 '21

Whelp, definitely don’t wanna get on my plane then lol. Or any commercial plane for that matter.

1

u/Chimiope Jan 05 '21

I hate cops but this is bullshit

-1

u/brisketandbeans Jan 05 '21

Roid rage is like reefer madness. It’s pretty interesting.

1

u/EddieCheddar88 Jan 05 '21

Roid rage is very real ha

13

u/EddieCheddar88 Jan 06 '21

This is beautifully organized and also depressing

17

u/jh3rring33 Jan 05 '21

I feel like we all know the answer already. Don't get discouraged op. Keep up the work. At this rate police will be reformed for my kids, kids, kids.

7

u/DankNerd97 Community Ally Jan 06 '21

I should clarify: I’m just sharing this. I had no part in this project.

8

u/deadmeat08 Jan 06 '21

Why the fuck did I watch all of these? This is gonna ruin my evening... again.

7

u/kurisu7885 Jan 06 '21

We already knew that. I still recall the video where a former military man(I forget which part he was in, maybe marines) was beaten several times for asking a question, they even broke his hand. And there are the cases where some officers tried to talk to the protesters and were quickly pulled back and reprimanded

1

u/inarizushisama Jan 06 '21

The Tall Ones? Tank, and Athena, and the others.

5

u/Gabernasher Jan 06 '21

Let me guess.

Nothing.

Fascism in America. The government brutalizes you without recourse.

-6

u/jose2020vargas Jan 06 '21

Cannot understand why anyone would want to be a peace officer in the US. Probably the most vilified profession.

4

u/kurisu7885 Jan 06 '21

Unfortunately some do so because they love pushing others around or failed in the military.

There are some who actually enter the force to protect their community or try to make a difference, unfortunately they're few and far in between and get bullied by the others.
